  1. It is 88 degrees in Grand Rapids MI today and I am happy to report the A/C is working great. I love my little Lemonade Spark! Old Yeller is her name.
  2. I had mine to the dealer on July 14, after about two week wait for parts. I was reluctant to get this fixed, as I had not noticed a real problem with the A/C. Unfortunately, it took 4+ hours. Seems the reprogramming didn't take until the third time. Tomorrow is our first 90 degree day, so I will be out giving it the business. The only thing I noticed so far is a hard-soft fan blow, which existed before and after the recall.
  3. I thought I wanted Jalapeño, but could not locate one in the LS model. I chose Lemonade, a great mellow yellow with yellow seat inserts. I think it looks like smiling sunshine, something in short supply in Michigan in winter!
  4. Amen! Hybrids are too complicated. Love my Spark!
  5. I have my Yellow iPod. Just have to recharge it once a week. I, too, am happy with just the Aux. Didn't want the touch screen for another $1,500 !
  6. My Spark "Old Yeller" is a welcome bit of sunshine every time I go out in this Michigan grey winter. It is so much fun too! Actually saw an Jalapeño one in downtown Grand Rapids today!
  7. psquare75: I like the look of that Lemonade Spark. I've got one too. The yellow accented interior is way cool!
  8. I like my lemonade yellow cloth inserts in "Old Yeller". They stay cooler in summer and aren't super cold in winter, or requiring heated seats to compensate. Simple is good! Spark has it right!
  9. I don't miss the power locks. Just one more thing that could break. I love my Spark "Old Yeller". I prefer the simpler radio of the LS to the touch screen of the LTs. Since I use this car for business, and am usually the only occupant, I keep the other 3 doors locked most of the time.
  10. I hate door dings, and that is why I am happy the Spark is narrow. I can park at the edge of a space and have a walkway width on the other side. But, of course, that doesn't prevent some idiot with limited parking skills from parking ski-jawed and close. Never stay in one place too long! Ha Ha!
  11. It's simple! If the green lights symbol is on in the center stack top, it's daytime running lights. If the green lights symbol on the tach is on, it's the headlamps/tail lamps. I don't mind having to turn them on manually. When did we get so lazy?
  12. My iPod works great with the Aux cable. I just don't have the touch screen capability of my Buick Verano, but that's okay! I love my Spark!
  13. I, too, was attracted to the Spark by its styling. I think it is even more attractive than the Sonic, which is a good looking ride. The Aztek was the ugliest thing ever to come out of GM. YUCK!
  14. I'm a Buick man, but wanted the Spark for my city car. I bought my wife a 2013 Buick Verano last November and we both love it. What a beautiful car for a reasonable price Buick is it for me! Ever since my uncle sold me his 1960 Buick Electra with boat tail fins, I have been a Buick fan. I bought my wife a 2013 Buick Verano last November, and we are loving it! I wanted the Spark for my city car for my work. It has been great!
  15. Blue? Why would anyone want that color? I love my Lemonade Spark! It really stands out in a sea of grey and silver cars, plus the yellow and grey interior is a whole lot more inviting than black or dark grey interiors that most cars offer.
  16. I'm fine with the manual locks, as I am usually by myself with just the driver door open. When my wife rides along, it is easy to reach the other door, as the Spark is compact in the width dimension. I didn't want to pay $1,500 more for the power locks, as they couldn't be had without adding that MyLink radio, which I did not care for. Sometimes, less is really more, as Mies Van der Rohe once said. (It's an architect thing)
  17. Hey, Trancer07, I think Blue Streak is a perfect name for your Spark. And funny, since I doubt either of us could streak our Spark in any fast sort of way!
  18. I'm listening to IL VOLO! Three teen-age Italian boys with great operatic voices!
  19. The design, both inside and out! It is so much better looking than the Sonic, which looks like a pig from the front!
  20. Hi neighbor to you too! I noticed that when I was here the other day! I've only seen one other Spark on the road here, and one in a parking lot. Both were Jalapeño color, which is what I originally thought I wanted, but couldn't locate an LS auto in that color. I am glad I got the Lemonade, as the interior is brighter! I'm in the Forest Hills area on the East side of town.
  21. Someone had to love Lemonade color! I sure do! The interior is so much brighter and cheerful place to be than all those dark grey interiors! Love my Spark!
  22. Congrats, Josuar9476! I had a 1988 Festiva, one of the best little cars I ever owned. My Spark LS automatic reminds me of her! The Koreans really make great small cars! I did not want the touch screen radio, as I prefer a volume knob to the up/down arrows of the higher zoot models. My new yellow iPod works great on the aux setting. Love my little Lemonade colored Spark, "old Yeller", as my wife named her. She said "you're old and it's Yeller"
  23. My Spark is named "Old Yeller". My wife says I'm old and it's yeller!
  24. My Lemonade Spark has beautiful matching insets on dash and doors of mellow yellow. Also, the seat insets are yellow with grey stripe. Way cool! I want to post a photo but can't figure out how to do it!
