Skids 108
Just had this reprogramming/software update done and yup! running like a top, like the rental I had was driving! Oddly it seems like a smoother ride too just cruising along. I had to bring it up to my dealership, and tell them about it or i doubt they would have done anything but the easily found it and did the oil change tire rotation, hood latch recall and reprograming all in less than a day so it is possible! THANK YOU ANGRYBIRD12!!!! WaltK

THANK YOU ANGRYBIRD12!!!! Cool! Guess you are the one I have been talking to on Facebook about this.... Glad it worked as well for you as it did me. We need to get the word out about this update. Its sad some people gave up on it before the fix was available. I think GM should have a system that they can enter a complaint in and when a TSB comes for that issue everyone that brought their car in for that is notified... You need to keep checking back, and get customer service involved and keep after them... WaltK and Skids
Nevada Spark 1
Is this reprograming only involve the auto-trans CVT in how it operates and shifts? Or does it also involve the engine and how it runs?

Chevy Customer Care, this is a very valid point that has been raised here, these guys were having problems, and were left out in the dark to work it out, and thankfully they did. I have been giving your group accolades on this board, right from the gitgo, because you have been extremely helpful, but you kind of dropped the ball on this one. Angyrbird raises a great point here, suggesting that any TSB or recall, affecting the Spark should be posted here, as this is the largest, and most active Spark forum on the web. Apparently, this forum has not been monitored for at least a week, which is not going to lend any confidence in Chevy support, your presence here has increased confidence levels, and your absence is just going to reverse that trend. If you intend to continue to support our members, please make your presence known, on a fairly frequent basis, if you are going to abandon this forum, kindly notify our members of your decision, as it is not fair to leave our members guessing, if they can depend on your support or not. To our members, I am sending a CC: directly to Chevy Customer Support, and I am stepping way out of bounds as a moderator, but I feel what is right is right. Should any memeber feel the need to contact Chevy Support, they can be reached here. http://chevysparkforum.com/user/829-chevrolet-customer-care/ Edited May 15, 2015 by WaltK lespoole and Skids

Skids 108
Yup angry bird that is me. And Walt K I agree completely, same as they send out a recall notice a TBS notice would be an awesome thing too! Moving forward @Chevrolet Customer Care from a corporate level and making your dealers require an email when someone purchases a new car. I know snail mailing out all these post cards can become costly, but an email take but 10 minutes (after the initial setup of the system) and is free. just a "hey theres an update for your Chevy have them reprogram on your next oil change" help get customers into the dealership and keep them happy. Especially with all the technology going into these cars these days this is going to be happening more and more. and it's kind of cool for all us technology guys like when our cell phones, apps, and computers get updates it's like getting a new _fill-in-the-blank_ for free. @nevada spark, as far as i know it just reprograms the CVT tranny, but it drives way differently feels more powerful better acceleration and mpg Retired old Gearhead and Nevada Spark
Ray Dockrey 97
It's just for the CVT equipped Sparks. My guess would be it modifies the shift behavior of the multi-speed gearbox that is part of the CVT. Nevada Spark
Angrybird12 61
Is this reprograming only involve the auto-trans CVT in how it operates and shifts? Or does it also involve the engine and how it runs? Its just the transmission issue. Nevada Spark
Skids 108
if you havent done this update go do it now!! this car is a blast to drive now!! it was fun before but now? .. oh so good!! Retired old Gearhead
Ray Dockrey 97
Took mine in today for the recalls including the AC recall. I also complained about the tranny and gave them the printout that was posted here. We will see what happens but I am confident it will get taken care of. The dealer is one of the better ones around here.
Skids 108
What A/C recall is on the '14?
Ray Dockrey 97
It's the same recall that originally was just for the 13's. They didn't get the issue resolved for some of the 14's. The AC cycles all the time and blows barely cool at stop lights. Chevy Customer Care had confirmed that my VIN fell under the AC recall
Skids 108
oh ok gotcha. ya never sent me anything
Ray Dockrey 97
Got the car back. The AC is much better but I am not sure it's where it could or should be. They did everything but replace the compressor. I am going to drive it for a few weeks and see how it is. The software update for the CVT is awesome. The car drives like a whole different animal. I am still trying to get used to it. And I thought the car was fun to drive before lol. Edited June 13, 2015 by Ray Dockrey Skids and Retired old Gearhead

WaltK 305
They did nothing, again, after waiting over five hours, again. Have you tried contacting the girls over at Customer Care, on this site? http://chevysparkforum.com/user/829-chevrolet-customer-care/ They can be helpful, in dealing with your dealership. It's worth a shot. Retired old Gearhead
