Angrybird12 got a reaction from Spark.023 in Adding a Cold Air Intake to my spark..
I replaced my air filter with a K&N and then removed the resonator tube and replaced it with a 90 degree elbow facing down. It seems to have helped the seat of the pants feel and I now get the cool wooshing sound like you get with a CAI... Much cheaper too.

Angrybird12 got a reaction from Bobby MSME in One Year with our Spark
On May 20thwe celebrated our one year anniversary with our Green 2014, 1LT Spark with the CVT Transmission
Other than 3 oil changes I have had the car back for 3 other issues, two of which were the hood latch recall and PCV recall. The other was for the issue I reported shortly after purchasing our Spark about the transmission sometimes not resetting to the lowest gear setting when coming to a stop. I am happy to report that was fixed with the help of the Chevrolet service advisors on this forum finding a TSB and contacting my dealer. It is performing as it should now.
Statistically speaking here is my 1 year report.
    Miles 15,500
    Highest MPG tank, 45mpg
    Lowest MPG tank, 28mpg
    Average over lifetime, 36mpg
Oil used, less than 1/2 quart and that was before the PCV recall.
    Performance observations:
City performance before CVT update was below expectations, but since it performs as it should with more than adaquate acceleration from a stop.
Highway performance has always exceeded my expectations, never have had issues accelerating onto the interstate or maintaining 70+ mph speeds with the cruise control on.
Mountain driving has been good, never holding up traffic on the upgrades even the steep ones. Handling around curves is adaquate, nothing spectacular, but not disappointing either.
Interior is comfortable on medium length trips of 200 miles, but can be tiring on longer trips.
Complaints: only two, it needs a better sound system and the visibility is challenging when the headrests are in the raised position.
Praises: It is a fun little car that gets lots of compliments about the color and styling which surprised me. The fuel costs are great with this car costing me less than half of my previous daily driver.
Would I recommend a Spark, YES, just remember what it is designed to do and what it costs and you won't be disappointed.

Angrybird12 got a reaction from Retired old Gearhead in My 2013 Chevy Spark: Good-bye and Good Luck/Riddance!
The spark is not perfect no car is, my issues with the visibility with the spark are only with the large headrests. I can get my mirrors adjusted so I have no side blind spots(learned how to do that with the Camaro). The AC is fine as long as you are moving, sitting in traffic it sometimes can't keep up, but once the interior is cooled down and if you keep it on recirculate it keeps it fairly cool at 90.
10 months and 14,000 miles and still happy with our Spark.
Good luck with the Jeep, unfortunately I have heard some horror stories about the new Cherokee too. You never can tell any more.

Some pictures with model numbers of what you bought and a diy install would be great.

Maybe you can adapt one that fits a Chevy tracker. They are really not much different in size.

Hmm isn't it still under warranty? Unless you have over 36,000 miles on it I would think so.
Anyway you should take it back to the dealer that did the recall. Sounds like they may have messed something up and they would be responsible to fix it.

Isn't it possible the suspension and transaxel damage occurred as a result of the accident instead of being the cause of the accident?

Cool! Guess you are the one I have been talking to on Facebook about this.... Glad it worked as well for you as it did me. We need to get the word out about this update. Its sad some people gave up on it before the fix was available. I think GM should have a system that they can enter a complaint in and when a TSB comes for that issue everyone that brought their car in for that is notified... You need to keep checking back, and get customer service involved and keep after them...

Thought you might want to see the service order.
In town it drives Like a different car. No hesitation or jerkyness at low speeds any more. I still need to try it on the interstate to see if they changed anything about that. I hope not, I was very happy with the highway performance before.

Found out something from Travis Gage on the Spark Facebook group about using the foam baffles on the rear speakers to make them enclosed like the front cups on the stock speakers. It helps the sound a lot. You can get them on EBay for both the 4" round front and 4"X 6" rear speakers for about $10 per pair. Try it. I did and I was amazed at the difference it made.

I have taken a few road trips and been driving around town quite a bit since the software update and it works great. Its been in the upper 80's and Lower 90's the last few days and using the AC it still has plenty of go off the line...
And I do believe it has helped my gas mileage too.

Angrybird12 got a reaction from WaltK in CVT shifting issues and new TSB PI1309
I have previously posted about a concern I had about the CVT sometimes not resetting to the lowest ratio at a stopped condition, this made it very sluggish pulling out. I contacted Chevrolet Customer service on the forum with my concern and Jasmine replied. She checked up for me and found there may have been a TSB for my issue. She contacted my dealer and they called me and set an appointment for me to bring it in to be checked.
I took it in and they found out it did need the TSB TI1309 to be performed to reprogram the TCM. They completed that this morning and so far it seems to have cured that issue and the transmission does not seem to be as jerky at low speed either.
So if you have these issues I would have my dealer check on that TSB.
Just noticed on my dealer printout it is listed as TI1309 and PI1309....

Well I am on a little road trip and on the interstate it still performed as before, plenty of pep and easy on cruise control at 70 keeping up the speed. Then I took it on some backroads and now it feels like it's picked up 20 HP. I tell you if you still are experiencing the bogging take it in you won't believe the difference. Insist they check on the TSB. Or like me contact Jasmine of Chevrolet Customer service on here, she is aware of the problem and solution.
