malibuguy 14
Finally got around to finishing this tonight. Fully TIG welded 304ss, about 1/2 the weight of the stock muffler. Sounds good...strangly louder at moderate acceleration, while at WOT the motor is louder. Did it all at home...so i did not have access to the tooling i normally use at work to produce nicer hangers. mvp_scott 3
Looks nice! How much was the muffler?
Lovgun7 75
that looks great ! im actually looking into doing this . My cousins both own ls1 motors and have modded out their chevys. they suggest i actually get a new piping system but recommended i use magnaflow for the muffler and pipe ... this looks great though Edited June 2, 2013 by Paul Delgado
Trancer07 30
Wow. That is one shiny muffler! Does this enhance performance or mileage at all or is it more for audible & cosmetic appeal? Edited June 2, 2013 by Trancer07
malibuguy 14
I plan to dyno the car soon at my tuners shop. I may swap the stock muffler back on cor a comparo. I did mainly for the looks and sound. One could do a full catback...I was thinking about making a limited run of custom exhausts since im a professional custom exhaust fabricator by trade. And the likelyhood of another company to support the car is very little. The muffler was about $70 and I have another $90~ in the hardware, tubing and flange.
bluer101 241
Nice, I might be interested in a full exhaust.
Greg_E 211
Did GM really weld and iron/steel flange on the end of stainless tubing for the muffler inlet? What would it cost if you used something like a Magnaflow muffler, cost is going to be a big issue for a lot of people, so is too much noise. I would also suggest building it in about 4 foot sections so it is easy to ship.
Lill blu sparky 9
That looks really good! What about that diffuser? Did you make that too?

psquare75 35
I'd be interested in this as well, cost permitting..

malibuguy 14
Never made a kit for these yet. Could probably produce a kit with 409ss tubing and a magnaflow in the 350-450 range

Hobo1 8
I wish it was spring so I could get started on my exhaust project...
malibuguy 14
I dont have the dimensions on hand. I basically found the only 1.5" 2-bolt flange that was stainless. It wasnt perfect match, but i made it work.
