Greetings! I hope y’all are well.
I’m Amanda and I’m the proud owner of a 2020 Caribbean Blue 1LT and also a 2019 Passion Fruit 1LT. I’ve also had a 2018 Sorbet 1LT and a 2016 Kalamata that were both totaled for deer hits.
I drive a LOT for work so I would bet I have more miles than y’all have seen on at least the new gen. I also practically live in my car so I know a good bit about them! I love living the SparkLyfe and am glad I found this board!

Quick little mod. Felt like being extra lol. I love watching people’s heads turn (expecting something a bit more...muscly) and then quickly turning away when they realize it’s a spark. The gurgle from the intake actually sounds amazing. Best $40 I’ve spent in a while!

thismarks got a reaction from Blackmagic225 in Air intakes
Small modification with K&N air filter in the stock box. There is a cool air inlet duct right behind the sealed fake grill. I cut out the areas in front of the intake duct to get cooler air. No issues in extremely heavy rain if your worried.

I will be painting everything black again to blend in when it's ready to install. ( Added clamped and attached pic )

There is already a picture of a titanium '16+ with black heliums but here's my wife's car.

Handles like a kart. It won't brake traction at all off the line with dry pavement and on wet the light might flash once. Turn in is amazing, grip is really good in comparison. Nothing like a set of 200TWs though. Tire hum is gone but these tires are still not perfectly quiet. I need to find some puddles to test hydroplane resistance.

Here are my results with my wheels and tire combo on my 2019 Chevy spark LT Manual
the original tire size was 185/55/15 and the original wheels were 15x6
the wheels I went with are 16x6.5 and tire size is a 185/55/16 and so far they only rub when backing up with wheels cut all the way

Wheels are from a Kia Rio
17"x6.5", ET 43mm
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 205/40R17
(Tried 205/45R17, but they rubbed the strut spring perch up front).
Had to have the center hubs bored out 2.4mm (54.1mm (Kia) to 56.5mm (Chevrolet))...so now they're hub-centric
Pic taken just after install of wheels/tires. Thanks to the crew from Gran Turismo East in Atlanta for the fabulous work; Kieran, Chris et al are true professionals.
Test fitting wheel after hub boring:
Just prior to my leaving the shop, this gorgeous thing rolled up. Glorious.

Just wanted to follow up and let you all know that the 215/40/16 fit, but rub the wheel well plastic a bit when turning. I will most likely modify or cut the plastic. Seems like it just barely touches it on the rear side when the wheel is turned. They clear the inside by the strut by 1/3 inch and the strut cup on top by about 1/2" . I'll post pics soon.

The kit just arrived. Pretty simple to assemble. I may figure out a way to mount these with coil on plug boots if there is clearance. If not, I may just buy a good set of wires and modify the plastic Ecotec cover in order to run the wires through. I'll follow up once I get some more measurements.

Since the snow has hit, and I have no garage to use yet, this thread will be very slow. I've decided to add more to the turbo project and get the most out of the whole build. Just decided to do a custom D585 LS Coil conversion. I can't take credit for the complete idea since someone has already done the conversion and the footwork for a Sonic. I will have a complete second set with bracket if anyone is interested. Just pm me.

Imo, I'd look into the manual swap. It makes the car perform much different and they can be had for a reasonable price from a salvage yard or even eBay. I'm still wondering when 5th gear will be useful as a power gear, but being able to demand the power when needed is so much better. Sad to hear the problems your facing, but I have been there. Here are a couple of links: Manual and CVT /Auto

Thanks again for the info on the plugs. I did a quick double check and the one you recommended is perfect. Ordered a set for my car. I think it will help quite a bit
