Does anyone have a rear fog light on their car? Do the European versions of the Spark have a rear fog? Mini had a rear fog on the Cooper in Europe, American owners complained, and Mini offers the rear fog in the USA. I would be interested if one or both of the red reflectors in the bumper could be used. Meaning car looks stock. I don't want to just tack something like this on:http://www.piaa.com/store/p/426-Deno-1-Red-Rear-Fog-Lamp-Kit.aspx Not saying it's not nice, I just want things to be flush and look like OE.

Maybe a pair of these in white and set for steady operation?

Probably going to be about $200 for a pair of lights though.

Or maybe these "snap in" halogen versions:

I want something that fits in stock location without any cutting, I've done that before and did not work (Mini Cooper S) had to buy another grill because of my brilliant idea. I did cut out holes on a bumper for drl's. I was happy with results, but sold car before I got lights hooked up. Thought I had more pictures, but you get the idea:

The UK Spark has a rear fog light at one side and a reversing light at the other side built into the rear lights..

I was looking into buying the Euro tail lights because of the amber lenses for the turn signals, now because of the fog light........How do you turn on the rear fog? On the stalk?

You will need to rig up a special switch for this, remember that EVERYTHING is controlled by the computer and your dealer is not going to be able to get the info to turn on the rear fog in the USA since we don't have it. I assume you only want this on when reversing so you could probably just connect a relay to the reverse lights to turn on the fog light.

Anyone have a picture of this fog and reverse light on the EU cars?

I didn't need to do any wiring, relay, etc, to make the rear fog light on the Jetta I owned. I replaced the headlight switch ($50.00) and tail lights (to OE Euro LEDs). Original switch was a dial, new one was also a dial except you could pull out switch after you turned lights on, turning on a single rear fog. Had someone run the code to enable the lights, fog, and reverse light. Perfect. Widget has a picture of tail lights in the Brakelight badge thread. http://chevysparkforum.com/index.php?/topic/235-brakelight-badge/page__pid__2222#entry2222

Don't forget Corvette owners have been installing Euro tail lights in their cars for a while now, and like everything else not simply plug in and it works. Someone will certainly know how to make it work, and it will come down to programming, not adding relays, wiring etc.. Your foglights work, right?

My fogs work because the computer was programmed to allow them to work, the driving lights are based off of a separate switch which I added. I could have done fogs with a similar switch but decided I might as well go integrated since the function was there.

That's my point, it was programmed to work. Same thing can be done for fog lamp in tail lights. programmed to work. VW owners have been able to program Euro lights to work for at least 6 1/2 years now. I don't see why GM would be any different. BTW these Euro lights were NEVER offered by VW or their dealers in the USA. But owners made them work, and correctly (amber for turn signals and red for brake lights).

I think the programming will depend on which other cars use the same features and computers. If we are lucky some of the performance cars use the same computers since they are more likely to be hacked. TunerPro might be one thing to work on to see if it can support our cars.

That said in order to program the fog lights the programming device reads the VIN and connects to GM, it also needs an authentication code that came with the lights, if one of those two numbers doesn't get entered properly, the lights don't work. Not sure if you can simply force a bit in the firmware to be different to get things working, or if that authentication number is burned into the computer, and then a hash is also determined and if those two things don't compute, then the lights don't work. This DRM on the cars is a bit out of hand.

Here is a link for those reflector lights you posted. http://www.exledshop.com/exled-custom-leds/chevrolet/spark/rear-bumper-reflector-led-module-for-spark-assembly-complete-pair-copy.html.

Here is the only picture i have of the back of my car at the mo, you can see the right lens has red at the bottom for fog light and the left is clear for reverse light. The fog light is turned on by a twist bit at the end of the wiper control stalk.

In the UK you dont need a reverse light for the car to pass its yearly test, if its fitted it must work but if there isnt one on the car then it doesnt matter. But a rear fog light is mandatory. There are lots of different types of LED lights available for the Spark from China, some are kits you fit yourself and some are complete units, but they are pretty pricey. I really dont like the look of the UK lights and am hoping to change them soon.

Well I was developing condensation in my tailights, dealer resealed one (they could only replicate in one light), that and after looking at the Euro lights, don't want to replace my tail lights now. If the Euro lights did not have that chrome ring around the light I would be interested. I don't like chrome and am trying to eliminate/degloss any chrome. I am still interested in the valence lights though, have to wait till spring to figure something out.

the euro style stock rear lights with fog lights are pretty cheap delivarable. € 47,09 piece (in the Netherlands):

http://hottuning.nl/originele-onderdelen/chevrolet/spark/

or ebay € 71,- piece including shipping:

http://www.ebay.nl/itm/FARO-FANALE-POSTERIORE-DESTRO-CHEVROLET-SPARK-DAL-2009-/370786333223?pt=Ricambi_automobili&hash=item5654967227#ht_1644wt_1163

but than indeed i guess you dont have the switch to put them on.

in my case with my new rear lights, they come without the fog light. but the wiring is plug and play, so in the left white glass, i put a red rubber on the white bulp, and now works as a red fog light :)
