That's way beyond a chip. I would do all the necessary prep work, mask it off, sand, feather, prep sol, and respray the whole piece. There is no way to touch that up, to look original.

Where could I purchase a replacement without breaking my wallet?

I've never done this before is it a pain in the neck? Where would I get the paint etc.. This would be a cheaper option depending on how much the replacement piece would be.

I am guessing your local scrap dealer has a second hand piece of trim you can by cheap. I belive the spare part from Chevrolet only comes in a complete set with all the pieces.
