Wesley Hall 0
Calls for 87 octane.... Thank you! Will stop with the higher octane gas... Hope it hasn't harmed it in any way.
Greg_E 211
It won't harm anything to run the higher octane, at least one person says it runs better.
austex04 48
At least it's not a Mini or a Fiat, those are the two small cars that require premium fuel. I found premium fuel only makes a small difference in very hot weather, in temps above 100 degrees, otherwise no difference in performance or mpgs.
bluer101 241
Methane. JK, 87 octane.

greggb 7
Just watch out if you happen to drive through New Mexico because they sell 85 Octane in that state. Plus it is 10% ethanol which makes for some crappy gas !!!
Greg_E 211
I think if I were driving though a state like that where it is really hot, I might err on the side of caution and run 89 octane.
Ataristic 5
Just use regular, but watch out for cheap high ethanol gas, some places have ethanol up to 15%, this really kills power and gas mileage. As per the user manual, I only use Shell regular on mine.
psquare75 35
Cheap gas. E10 is inescapable in my area.
Greg_E 211
Yeah, wish we could get real gas here too... Think of the mileage increases.

I live in the desert (Tucson Az) and mine runs just fine on the 87 octane here and temps are now in the low 100s.(was 107 yesterday). If anything, my Spark seems to run better in the hot, dry weather, I DO use gas that is NOT 10% ethanol however because it is available out here. Sadly in many places folks are stuck with the ethanol gas.I hate the stuff.
