stevesparky 20
The first thing I noticed with my Sparky was the road noise coming up thru the floor board. Has anybody insulated the floor board, but taking up the carpet and insulating the floor board with something like Dynamat. If so, did it work? Thanks. Any other ideas? stevesparky 20
Thanks for ideas and brands. I was thinking of using this. What do you think? http://www.lowes.com/pd_28929-1410-FV516_ It is self adhesive foil and foam. Lot cheaper than the other stuff. Thought I would go with 2 or 3 layers. quietspark 0
Thermal insulation is different from acoustic insulation. Putting multiple layers of any product down may make it difficult (too thick) to put the carpet back neatly. If you're going to go to the time & trouble of taking up the carpet, an actual acoustic insulation product makes sense. Dynamat or one of their competitors.

Greg_E 211
Floor mats may make enough difference for you, the rubber ones are pretty heavy and seem to be a quality item, but I didn't think to make a note of road noise before and after adding them. I put them in the four passenger places and the cargo mat too. I would actually think the roof might be the loudest part and I might start there if I was going to add any noise products.
