Value change when adding hood pins

I recently had an issue with the hood latch on my car (2013 Chevy spark. Yes, the latch was recalled in 2014 before I bought it, I don't know if it was replaced). I ended up removing the latch, and the cable and lever are also broken now. Instead of spending a $100+ to replace it, I was thinking of adding hood pins to my car. Will this decrease the value if I choose to sell/ trade it later?

There is little value in the first place. Destroying the hood may not make a difference to a buyer, but you never know. And then there's the rust factor.

What is unclear is the reason for your reluctance to fix it right...it's the cost of the parts?
