South87 1
SO I have the original key fob, there is no buttons because only my trunk has a electronic lock. I have been having issues with the antitheft system today saying I'm not using my key, when I am. After a few tries it starts, but that's getting old fast. Online says I need to change the battery, there is no battery in this one, just a tiny compartment with the chip. So I am wondering what's powering the chip, how is it able to transmit to my car that this is my key, and if I need to charge it how?, Or do I need to order a new chip. I have had the car for almost 4 years and its only today did this. I cannot find any info on this, because majority of the info Chevy puts out is a universal that tries to cover all vehicles, so it saying to change the battery doesn't work for me.
