I am going to try it like that. I am going to add a different one soon and will remove the tire kit and mock something up. It really doesn't hit as hard as I thought it would for a hatchback. It does make the rear view mirror point to the ceiling though lol.

I am pretty sure if you use these metra connects your neg and positive are backwards I switched mine and sound alot better. Am I correct?

I was in the process of wiring my high input and realize I used the connector in the kicker install thread. This has the negative and positives wrong! Am I correct? You can see in the picture. The wiring diagram I have has the striped wires as negative?? Tapping into rear speaker wire.

Just a heads up the JBL GT5-2402BR fits the trunk really well. Seats locked and hatch closed. I need to go buy an amp and my kicker stock replacements will be in today. Any opinions on mounting the amp and cap on top of the shelf by the back window? Or in tire area?
