Looking to upgrade the audio of my Chevrolet Spark 2012

Hi all,

I'm completely new to adjusting things in my car, but I think I should be able to do some adjustments by myself without making any unnecessary additional costs at a garage. 

So I've been wondering if I can improve my speakers in my car since to be honest the audio quality is quite bad. I've seen some YouTube video's that give some instructions and also went through some topics on this forum. I'm wondering if anybody has also upgraded their speaker set of their car and if there are any recommendations regarding:
- Which speakers I should buy and how can I decide which speaker will fit the connector for the basic audio system?
- Are there any connectors I should buy/keep in mind
- Are there any tools I should buy that make removal and installation easier?

Next to that most video explanations I find are for newer models, say 2016, does this make any differences?
