    Hi heymak,

If it's dashed one with no front presence means it is on board, I mean it's soldered on the board itself and, in general, not serviceable. If it's faulty, GM will certainly ask to replace the complete box. You can check for fuse in instrument panel fuse box.

I suggest to focus on fuse, if you find, as that is easy component to damage as well replace. If that is ok, you can check relay by listening to "click" sound it make while working. Unfortunately, I don't have rear wash-wipe so can't suggest exact how.

OK, heard the relay click.  There's two pumps on the washer reservoir so I guess I'll try swapping the cables on the pumps and see if one of the pumps is burnt out.

  2. How do you access the rear washer relay?  The engine compartment fuse box shows dashed lines for the relay on the diagram. I assumes that means they are on the bottom side but I don't see how to get to them.  By the way my washer fluid line froze last year and now no pump sound .  Probably fuse or relay but seriously can't find either.

  3. Today, I got a check engine light. Got an email notice thru onstar that says 06/30/2016 5:13AM The thermostat heater control circuit is not functioning. Diagnostics with torque pro gives P0597 Thermostat Heater Control Circuit Open. Taking it to dealer tomorrow. Just putting this out there to see if anyone has had this. 14000 miles, 2015 ls cvt. I've seen it in the sonic and cruise forums, but not here.

  4. I agree about the A/C running and slow acceleration off the line. The other day I almost got hit because it just wouldn't go when I needed it to. It only recently got hot enough to warrant the A/C being on around here so I am only having my first experience with it this way. So far I haven't noticed any other issues with the car except the occasional hopping/bouncing effect at some lower speeds. I rolled my 2015 2lt off the lot in February of 2016 so I imagine this recall was already done. Is there a way I can see what has been done to my car without actually calling the dealer?

Just plug your VIN number in on this site.

If nothing comes up the recalls have already been done.

  5. Just a quickie note: An easy fast way to check the condition of the powertrain, wheel balance etc is to find a flat, cop free road and run the car to the max cut-off speed..if you can attain a speed at where the limiter kicks in, usually around 103-104 mph then the entire drive train is in excellent shape with good compression and other components. Due to the fairly heavy wind resistance of the Spark it takes a pretty well perfect engine and tranny etc to get there. Mine has over 70Kmi and will easily and quickly reach & maintain 104 mph with only a very minor wheel balance vibration at 75mph that goes away at 80...no shimmy or vibration at 104 indicates good suspension and steering components such as tie rod ends that will cause a shimmy at high speed if defective or loose.

Why does this sound like a dare to me? As in do it, I dare ya.
  6. I hate to dig up old posts, but this one really saved me a lot of trouble. To add to the info above I purchased the Rosta kit for my 2015 LS w/CVT. The dealer wouldn't install it so I did it myself. Took about an hour tops including soldering in the three connections that you'll need to splice under the dash. The rest is a total plug-n-play operation.

The biggest problem I had was trying to find a good spot to place the controller/computer from the kit. I found that if you pop off the fuse panel and pop out the side panel adjacent to the door that you'll find a nice pocket there to mount it. Additionally as the fuse box is already in there you already have the built in wire chase to use for running the rest of the wiring to the throttle, OBD2, and ignition power. A little wire wrap, zip ties, and good to go. Looks like a very professional install and I doubt the dealers it goes to for service will ever notice.

I followed your post advise and now also have a nicely installed cruise control. Would have never thought about the side panel of the dash popping out.

    Thanks

    Mike K

  7. Thanks for the welcome. Bought the Spark on Saturday morning/afternoon and Saturday night my old 2002 Saturn L100 must have been heart broken. The Saturns engine stalled and just wasn't worth paying for the repairs anymore. The tow truck picked it up for "Can Academy Cars for Kids" donation this morning. Hope I can get a good long life out of my Spark as well. Always sad to see an old horse put to pasture, but there's a new colt in the stable.
