Derek Mitchley 0
Good Day Everyone I recently installed an Amp and sub into my 2012 Chevy Spark. After i installed it i noticed my lights don't turn off automatically when i put off my car and open my door like it used to. Does anyone have an idea what might cause this? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated Many thanks Derek
Retired old Gearhead 201
Indeed I do! When you installed the new components you must have bypassed a switch or sensor that controls that shutdown function. Mechanics love people who come in after an electrical mod has caused a failure somewhere. Labor for tracing and undoing the issue is a big money maker.
Derek Mitchley 0
Do you know where this switch or sensor could be? Heres what iv did to my car. first i ran my power cable though my Firewall Gromet, Striped it , Connected a fuse. Then i Ran the power cable to the boot, Next i removed the center console and proceded to splice the cables inorder to add both my remote cable and a Hi-Lo converter to an the OEM harness. once that was done i ran the RCA on the opposite side of the car and connected it to the Hi-Lo converter, wired the Rca to the back and connected it all up. If you need pictures i do have some to post.
