tommyspark 24
Hopefully 1 of those plays.on here... never posted a vid before?!
malibuguy 14
First vid worked for me. Sounds pretty loud. You should do a flyby vid. The day after we got ours I unbolted the muffler...definetly wasnt that loud. The muffler I have on ours now is deeper and a little mellower on the outside. On the inside it booms a little...but she likes it.
tommyspark 24
Its too loud.for her so a muffler will go on after the winter time. Its loud for sure, but sounds.right in my opinion.....
Greg_E 211
A cherry bomb would probably do a lot to reduce the noise everywhere but full throttle.
tommyspark 24
Talked to my exhaust guy this morning. I'm going to put a magnaflow muffler on it. It will be a straight through design, but will quiet it down right to where it should be.... the tip will still come out where it does...... I'm keeping it the same way over winter time. With the gas numbers I'm reading I don' want to touch it until it warms back up.
malibuguy 14
Youll find the magnaflow to be almost stock like quiet. Consider deleting the front resonatornor replacing with a smaller one. Finding good stuff for 1.5" tubing is hard tho.

tommyspark 24
Resonator is gone already. It'll be a straight through muffler. Hopefully its not too quiet!
tommyspark 24
The piping we.used is.1.75 inches. Unless you have a.big.diesel, increasing the size.of exhaust piping more than .5 inches is usually not a good idea....
Abdullah Hj Kasim 3
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-vEByctvwU Just found this, the spark sound nice with the stock muffler and resonator removed.
tommyspark 24
I don't.see a.muffler on it.at all. Don't.quote me but I think.he's running.open."header", or no.pipe at all.from.the.cat back..... not.a.good.idea
bluer101 241
The bolt on kit uses the 4 rubber grommets to bolt a bracket to the bottom vs screwing or welding.
tommyspark 24
The bolt on kit uses the 4 rubber grommets to bolt a bracket to the bottom vs screwing or welding. Id.hope so.for over $600! And a.lot.of "bolt on kits" require a little welding.... at a minimum to hold the couplings.in.place

tommyspark 24
If I were to buy a bolt on exhaust, I'd definitely want the clamps/couplings welded in place. I would never trust nuts and bolts to not leak exhaust gasses. They may hold at first, but over a short period of time I'd be worried about them leaking
My4by2 17
I'm currently looking into deleting the center muffler/resonator assembly totally - then increasing the pipe to 1-3/4" just after stock catalytic converter & running stainless (adapter & tubing from (Veracious Motorsports) back to a Magnaflow 11133 oval muffler which is basically the same size & shape as the stocker. Will keep outlet style as-is since LS rear end doesn't have the cut-out hole like the LT's... Looking for a muffler shop close that does mandrel bending right now. Not looking for any real performance gains, just want a little better sound - I like to hear the car as I drive it.
tommyspark 24
Is that a straight through muffler? I ask because in case you didn't see my post, compared to our other Spark, I honestly noticed an increase in power with my exhaust. We also used 1.75" piping but my shop doesn't have a mandrel bender...... I wanted mine coming out of the center just to make it unique. Everyone else that does an exhaust will have it coming out the left side of the bumper. No doubt about it, I'm putting either a muffler or resonator back on it after winter time. It's a little too loud for me. It will still exit where it does though.
tommyspark 24
Put a glass pack, turned the other way on it today to quiet it down. Sounds about perfect now. Apparently a lot of people didn't know you could do this. But yes, you can put glass packs on backwards and quiet down exhausts.....
Hobo1 8
I'm going with a Magnaflow muffler. Shop is going to take measurements of the exhaust and they are going to work with me on making a muffler set-up. I just need to schedule the appointment. Nothing fancy. Just a different muffler and a tip to finish it off.

Hobo1 8
I just hope the Magnaflow isn't TOO quiet. My Sunfire had a decent muffler replace with a Magnaflow and it sounded pretty good. (Rev) (Fly By)I hope the Spark will sound just as good lol! Who knows though with this little motor! tommyspark 24
It won't sound like that with the original resonator on it. I'd recommend removing the resonator if Yr getting a magna flow muffler....
tommyspark 24
I think you'll be disappointed with just a magna flow muffler
