Greg_E 211
Just FYI.... All of our grill work attaches two ways. It snaps in place for the majority of holding power, but they also have a few screws here and there to make sure they stay in place. Not sure how big those horns really are, but it might be easy enough to make a mount that uses some of the upper grill screws to hold the horns. Stock horn is in front and under the headlight, pretty sure it has a relay to drive it.
Widget 36
Thanks for the info. I will keep everyone informed when i get these
Widget 36
I now have a set of these on order, just need to wait on them being delivered from USA.
Greg_E 211
I did a quick search but can't find them on the manufacturers page... What is the diameter? It really looks like these might fit in the upper grill using one of the grill screws on the extreme outside edges. This also keeps them from blocking airflow but you better check airflow to the intake, the stock intake gets air deflected off the front of the radiator instead of taking high pressure air from the hood lip like a lot of other cars. Widget 36
I have replaced my airbox with a cone filter, which will be getting a direct feed soon, so the airflow issue shouldnt really be a problem, as for the sizes I am not really sure, it will be a case of trial and error when it comes to fitting. Widget 36
They are still sitting in the box at the mo, I have been busy working and not had time to get in about the bumper and find a place to mount them. Hopefully soon.
BlackGranite13 0
I'm looking to see if you guys have figured out how to access the horn. I want to replace mine.
Lil Dew 14
Just install an old school Cadillac horn(can be found really cheap on fleabay), or a Mini Cooper horn. The Mini's horn doesn't mess around.
bensemailis 10
I am trying to find where the horn is located, seems to bu behind the bumper under the headlight. I am just going off sound though. anyone actually remove it yet?
Greg_E 211
It is behind the bumper and under the left headlight if my memory is correct. If you pull the inner fender well and unsnap the cover from the fender, you might be able to get the lower bolt for the headlight out and the two more bolts and remove the headlight, this should give you enough room to get to the horn. If not the cover will need to come off and that is detailed in my foglight thread. Check the foglight thread because you might be able to see the horn on a couple of the pictures. brillo 4
Wonder if the stock relay / fuse / wiring can handle a 2nd horn being installed (in parallel) with the stock horn ?
bluer101 241
Wonder if the stock relay / fuse / wiring can handle a 2nd horn being installed (in parallel) with the stock horn ? I would not chance it. It's easy to add another relay under the hood.
Greg_E 211
I don't think it would be a good idea, the really loud horns pull a lot more current.
bensemailis 10
I think when I install the off road lights I might just put one up there. The stock one looks like a nightmare to get to. Edited July 25, 2013 by bensemailis
