Won’t turn off when lights are on

Hey guys,

 

Just picked up a little 5 speed 1.0 spark as a second car. 

 

Everything has been great so far but I’ve just realised after using it in the dark that if you take the key out with the lights still on, the engine stays running. It will turn off as soon as you turn the lights off but this can’t be right surely?

 

I’m thinking it’s either an electrical issue that someone may have come across before or it’s a feature so the battery doesn’t die if the lights are left on?

 

Would really appreciate if someone could shed some lights on the issue.

This does not sound right to me. This isn't how my 2014 spark works. I didn't see the year of your vehicle so I apologize if yours is much newer. If that ends up being the only symptom I might let it be but it's probably something electrical. Best of luck!

It's a 2013. I was hoping it could be a common problem with a quick fix :(
