Been looking to buy one but need some more opinions on proper one to get. I have a 2014 spark and went with the DC sports CAI. I was happy with the purchase for a few reasons. I believe it was a cheaper option around $150 and it put the intake filter in the fender, far away from engine bay heat. I noticed a nice change in the sound which I think was the biggest change. It seemed zippier in acceleration but I have no way of validating that. For me, if you are going to get rid of the intake box, the intake filter needs to be out of engine bay heat. Installation is pretty straightforward and they use a mounting bracket that attaches near the battery box. You don't have to tKe the bumper off. I removed mine for other work. Bobby MSME 100
The only thing I wish was different in my 2017 Spark LS is location of battery. My other 2 recent cars, a 2007 Pontiac G5 and a 2011 Chevy HHR both had batteries in the trunk, far away from the engine heat, and original batteries lasted 7-8 years. Of course the Spark is small and has no room for a battery in the trunk. LittleBlue!
thismarks 65
Small modification with K&N air filter in the stock box. There is a cool air inlet duct right behind the sealed fake grill. I cut out the areas in front of the intake duct to get cooler air. No issues in extremely heavy rain if your worried. Fire Spark 13
Great idea. Might even get a few psi of ram air boost at high speeds or against a strong wind as a bonus. Edited May 20, 2019 by Fire Spark
William Thomas Harris 2
i got a injen cold air intake for my 2013 spark, it looks nice and sounds good too. you have to remove the front bumper cover though it wasn't too hard with 2 people doing it.
