Fuel octane rating

Recommended Posts

So what octane reading are you driving and why? I've heard some people running 93 due to the non ethonol in the car. But around me the only non ethonol gas is 110 which won't be useful in my little grasshopper. I've been running 87 but wanted to see what others were doing and why.

Ok cool. Yea the manual says anything higher than 87 so I figured it would be cool to see what everyone is using. So far all I've been doing is 87 but from Cumberland farms really as thats what's around me. Nothing around me for ethonol free.

The book says 87 so it gets 87, i dont see any reason to put something else in it. New cars are made to run on e10, so theres really no need to run pure gas, plus you help our fellow corn farmers.
