GNRLIVESON 0
For the last 3-4 tanks of gas I have noticed my mpg drop HORRIBLY. I mean it went from 32-33 mpg city and 40 on highway to 22-23 in city 32 on highway... somethings not right....
Retired old Gearhead 201
CVT working OK? Idle is smooth? Power OK? Using AC with the CVT lowers gas mileage so does a slipping tranny. Make sure your car rolls freely on a slight incline to check for brakes binding a bit. If engine idles smoothly and runs OK then my first guess would be slipping tranny or tranny running in the wrong gear. That, or brakes are binding. If neither, then engine is running too rich..might be a fouled MAS or other sensor. No warning lights?
GNRLIVESON 0
i dont think my trans is slipping I only have 4900 miles on it
Mr.tozzi 66
Too soon to expect any consistent mileage out of it. You should let that engine rev for the first few thousand miles and not be baying it to get gas mileage. If you have not changed your oil yet you should do it very soon. GNRLIVESON 0
Someone told me I should add seafoam to my gas tank? Any ideas?
GNRLIVESON 0
Haven't yet just want to hear opinions first or should I take it to the dealer
Retired old Gearhead 201
Tozzi is correct about the initial oil change to get rid of the 'break-in' crap that ends up in the oil and filter on a new car. Synthetic will give you better mileage. Have you tried the 'roll' test to make sure a brake or brakes are not binding?
Ray Dockrey 97
How are you figuring your mileage? Are you going by what the computer says or are you figuring it yourself.
GNRLIVESON 0
Oil was changed at 2500 miles most miles before that mark were highway I'd say Edited May 15, 2017 by GNRLIVESON
Gossamer 50
I don't know about the 2016 model, but I know my 2013 (with auto trans) had hill assist. If the 2016 has it too, the roll test won't prove anything, since the car won't roll. Edited May 15, 2017 by Gossamer

Mr.tozzi 66
Are you using different gas, are you driving in a different route than before? Is that number out of a bunch of short city runs or out of your commute? Is your air filter clean? Is your tire pressure correct? There are too mamy factors that affect gas mileage, and your mood alsp counts. I can get as high as 43mpg and as low as 22 depending on my driving style alone.
