I also never changed the battery on my cobalt, i had it for 98k miles, 5years of ownership.

The battery in my G5 (now traded out) was in great shape after 9+ years of use. The HHR (still own) battery after 5 years is still working great. Your Cobalt battery lasted longer.

What is common thread here? All those cars had batteries located in the trunk, away from the engine heat! The engine gets lot hotter than heat in Arizona or Florida or Texas.

not a battery or alternator issue.  My 72 year old mom has the same issue on her 2015 Chevy Spark and no one can find the problem or figure out why her battery is dead every morning.  4 new batteries and 2 new alternators as they thought the first alternator was bad when they put it in.  She needs to be able to go to dr and other appointments yet we have to jump her car every day.  dealership cannot come up with a fix other than pay off her car so she can get a new one but she cannot afford to do so... any help would be appreciated!!!
