Retired old Gearhead 201
It's all math...All you need is properly drained, then ask for the oil you want...Synthetic is better...Filters are mostly the same...then lastly check the level for proper fill...you can go about 1/4" over the fill line. Before they start tell them exactly how much oil the engine takes (last few pages of owners manual) as some just assume or round it out...can't do that on a small engine.....Only difference between 3rd party and dealer is price and filter brand. ptrck 0
The best way I can answer this question is to have you watch the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiCAJ8ULnaI Honestly, though, the best way to ensure that your preventive maintenance is done correctly is to do it yourself. Nobody cares about your car the way that you do. -Pat
Lovgun7 75
yeah bro...learn to do it yourself the spark is the easiest car to do an oil change on. 30 min job and saves $$$
Mr.tozzi 66
pep boys will use the filter and oil you ask for and charge you accordingly, dealer will use an oem filter and whatever oil is recommended for the car. The techs on either side probably won't know your car takes about 4qts to fill. If you can just buy an oil drain pan and do it youself, takes 15 minutes.
