Joe Lansing 0
Tomorrow I have a ham radio coming in that I need to wire to the battery. It will be a pair of 12 gauge. I can't use the clutch plate hole. I see another big hole/grommet with a lot of wires already in it right behind the negative battery post. Is this a good location, or is there something easier? Right now I'm thinking of just poking an icepick/sharp coathanger or something through the edge of that existing grommet and calling it good. Thanks for any advice. - Joe
WaltK 305
Probably, most purists wouldn't agree with me, but I would have no problem punching a couple of holes through the existing grommet. As long as the elements can't get into the cabin, it would be just fine. You also wouldn't be the first to do it.
