mike 0
anyone compete at SPL competitions with a spark?
Schaltz 27
I have done a fair bit of SPL in my Spark - hitting around 150 dB with my setup. I am currently building a SQ-setup. Way more fun and more challenging to build a stereo which sounds great, and not all about pressure. I have made setups in lots of cars, so I would believe i know what i am talking about. Currently getting my Spark ready for EMMA 2015 to compete in SQ. Edited December 8, 2014 by Schaltz
mike 0
What were you running when you competed SPL and what are you running now?
Schaltz 27
I ran 2x10 inch subs and complete JBL-speaker setup. 4" in the front, and 4x6 and 6x9 in the back. Powerd by a 2000w mono for the subs and a 4-channel for the speakers. My current setup is complete high-end DLS speakers from Sweden, 4" set in the front with tweeters and 7x10" speakers in the back. And currently waiting to get 2 Gladen SQX-10 subs in. Powerd by the same amps as before. The car has been given a full Dynamat treatment, and the current build will be done in order with the EMMA-rulebook. Not only is it important to sound good, but all wires needs to be placed and mounted correctly.
mike 0
Sounds mad! What is your nationality? At the moment I'm running a 12" JBL GT5 series, pioneer 4" and Pioneer 400W 6x9 all powered by a 4 channel 60Wx4 JBL amp.
Schaltz 27
I am from Denmark :-) I love great sound, and people is often shocked with how much sound I have in such a small car. But it is a pretty expensive hobby, and takes a lot of time to do right. CahBunkers
mike 0
Awesome! Im from South Africa. Indeed it is expensive. I just realised that when I adjust the fader to the left it goes louder on the right and vice versa. How do I swap this around?
Schaltz 27
Do you have the speakers hooked up to an amp? Sounds like you have to change the channels around on the amp. For instance: Channel 1/2 has to be front and 3/4 for the rear speakers. Then it should work :-)
