tommyspark 24
Received a maintenance schedule from Chevrolet yesterday and it says that the brakes need to be bled at 30K miles. This sounds REALLY early to need new brake fluid. Did anyone actually do this at 30K miles?
WaltK 305
A lot has to do with the way the car is used. With ABS, it wouldn't hurt, brake fluid absorbs moisture, and moisture creates rust, which will rot out the brake lines. I wouldn't go the 45K they recommend on the same engine air filter either. WaltK 305
They claim 45K miles on the same air filter? Yup, maintenance schedule on 11-5 in the owners manual.
austex04 48
Maybe if the 30k miles were put on after 4 or 5 years, then I would flush out the old fluid. I usually do this when it's time to replace the brakes. The shops make big money on these services, that can easily be done if you have the tools needed for the job.
tommyspark 24
Same here. I just bleed em whenever the pads need replaced. And I always do air filter around 10k at MOST
