psquare75 35
Not as short oas 70 Yenkos. A cutoff wheel and SEVERAL cuts removed the old shift knob. I'm going to find or make a rubber boot so the shaft sticks out. Old Skool!
DRGEEVZ 2
Do you still have to rip the OEM knob off? or has someone found a more civilized way to do it? lol
psquare75 35
The shifter lever shaft has a very knurled end (like a hand ratchet) and the knob is 'melted' onto it. Either yank.. Or do what I did and use a Dremmel tool with a cutoff wheel in several locations on the knob and slice it up like a pizza to get it off. Cover your interior first.
Greg_E 211
The more elegant way will be to modify the end where it goes to cables forward at the transmission. Can't really see the part from the top so I haven't looked into it yet, but we should be able to change the size of the shift shaft to cable interface to gain the required amount of motion making the normal throw nice and short. It's all great until we get the part and start designing, and this part was not shown in the online parts suppliers that I can find.
theoth 0
A little off topic but I want to ask the arm rest board it's an aftermarket add on or it's originally included on the car?
Blake Thomas 0
Arm rest is factory
