Debadging

I'm planning on debadging our Sparks. Has anyone removed the bowtie on the back? Is it just adhesive on there or is it "anchored" like the H on a lot of Hondas?

I know the front bowtie is held on by 2 screws from the back of the bumper cover, pretty sure someone else looked into removing the stuff on the back, just can't remember what they found.

There are two prongs like the Honda badge, have fun. If you are going to take the rear wiper off to take that panel off to make the debadging easier. There is a tab that you press to remove the cover that is covering the nut for the wiper

Can always remove bowtie to replace with something else.

I know a few of us did the Holden emblem.

The rear bowtie is just held on with double sided tape. Comes right off. I had mine off when I installed the bowtie light.

So it IS just adhesive? No prongs etc?

If this is the case, I plan on painting it black,(plastidip) then relocating it somewhere on the hatch. Probably bottom left corner of it.....

There are two small holes under the rear emblem. I took mine off, then put it back on after trying to find something that looked decent and filled up the holes, no such luck. The "spark" letters came off with a little heat, then I polished that area to get off the rest of the sticky stuff off. I have seen two other sparks with "Holden" style emblems running around the Sacramento area... But still in my opinion look big and tacky...

I took "Spark" off of both cars yesterday. And it's already begun. What kind of car is that? Me: A Chevy. Well I see that, but what kind of Chevy? Me: A Chevy Chevy :hysterical:

First post!

Anybody have any pics of the badges off? Wanna see what I'm dealing with before I jump in.

The rear Chevy emblem has two holes under it, the SPARK on the back is adhesive. The front is held on by screws through the backside of the bumper cover, bumper cover removal is detailed in the factory fog light install thread.

Hey, to all you who are debadging (2018 Spark specifically): Would someone be so kind as to send me one of the "s"es if they're just throwing them out? Adding one to the end makes my car spell out one of my favorite bands.. :)
