Trancer07 30
Hey guys. I got my insurance rates overview for my Cavalier and it got me wondering, how much does it cost you guys to insure your spark? I'm guessing most of you guys have full coverage. Is insurance more or less than your past cars?
WaltK 305
I am paying $15 over my previous bi annual premium, for my '06 Mazda 3 GT hatch, full coverage. I was kind of surprised, I expected more.
bluer101 241
It's a little more than I expected. We added it to our existing policy. The agent told us the reason it is higher is because there is no safety data on file for USA. If you look at your car sticker it says there is no data in that field for the NHTSA. they have not crash tested them here in the states.
Greg_E 211
Any excuse to pull money from your pocket, what a load of garbage. But yes it cost a little more for basic liability, and I added comprehensive to this car which has proven to be a good choice.
bluer101 241
I have the highest Geico offers. $250,000/$500,000 with $500 deductible on all our vehicles.
Trancer07 30
If you look at your car sticker it says there is no data in that field for the NHTSA. they have not crash tested them here in the states. I never could figure out what was up with that. Wouldn't you think if the US didn't do crash tests on this car, the information from euroncap or something would have just transferred to here? Gossamer 50
My Spark is $64 a year more than my 06 HHR was. It is also $36 a year more than the 07 Prius that is on the same policy. *Edited to correct the dollar amounts DOH! Edited June 2, 2013 by Otay Sparky
austex04 48
My insurance went down some, this car costs less to insure than the '10 Hyundai Accent it replaced. The Accent didn't have abs, stability control, or daytime running lights, Spark has them. Also, the Spark did much better in the ncap test than the Accent, so it should also fare better in the American crash test as well. I have State Farm, over 25 driver with safe driver discount. beecherjeeper 0
In the Philippines I pay $300.00 for 12 months full coverage. Credit rating and driving record are not a factor in the price here. It is only based on the value of the car.
