  1. When playing any sort of audio over the speakers in my Chevy spark, the volume lowers. And it's not the volume you can see on the display, thats adjustable with the knob. It's just how loud the speakers play. I can also confirm it has nothing to do with any of the eq setting as I have tried changing it. Thinking back, I also don't remember this being a thing in the past, so maybe something in the speaker drivers broke.
  2. Looking to maybe install rear speakers on the base model. Does anybody have any experience with this? Does the radio need an amp added to it? Thanks!
  3. Hi all, this is my first car so please bare with me if I'm not as specific with any details. I bought myself a Chevvy Spark 2010 yesterday and I didn't even notice that my drivers side speaker wasn't not working. Whilst this isn't a deal breaker for me, I'm struggling to find videos and information on how to properly do a replacement for these speakers as I'd naturally want to replace the front two. Being able to listen to music whilst driving is a big deal for me and I do want to get them working as soon as possible Any information or links to other sources would be much ap
  4. I just figured I would add some info for people that may want some rear speaker install guidance since it is a nice upgrade. The rear doors come off fairly easy if done right. There are two screws that need to be removed along with a manual window crank and a couple small plastic covers. You will need a 9/32 hex bolt driver or a bit, a manual crank horshoe clip removal tool, and a Philips screw driver. A flat head screwdriver is useful to get the plastic panels lifted. I added a couple self tapping screws in each speaker surround to secure the speaker and prevent rattles from bass.
  5. Hello, I am going to modify my 2016 Spark EV with some new speakers. Apparently, the car wants 8 ohm speakers. The fronts may be 4, I am unsure. Replacing 4 with 8 will just be quieter, but replacing the rear 8 with a 4 is going to risk electrical issues. The Spark EV rear speaker is poorly designed in that it does lack any enclosure, which I would like to rectify. I have decided that in the back I will rig a mount using vinyl pipe strap to hold in place two speakers made by BIC for home audio use. These speakers just about exactly match the available gri
  6. I designed and 3D-printed adapters for the rear speakers on Spark. I shared the files, hoping it will help more people! Enjoy! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2915842
  7. I have a 2013 chevy spark it's still under warranty so I cannot change the alternator I gotta keep it otherwise I would be getting a high output alternator but I cannot get it cuz it would void the warranty I was gonna get a optima deep cycle 34r battery I got a kicker 400watt amplifier and one alpine type r in a ported box if I got that deep cycle battery would it be fine and would my car be able to handle it? Or would it fry my battery or alternator or possibly both of them?
  8. Long story short, I am prior military, real hard of hearing so the stereo has to be loud. I also own 2 restaurants and have to lay down the rear seats to do runs to pick up ingredients ect. about 4-5 days a week.(yes the back is 100% full) (yes I know I need a truck or van) (working with what i've got) This being said, in or out of the kitchen, music pretty much gets me through the day. As I am sure all of you are aware, the stock system is the worst thing in history. I have done some switches already to the stock speakers, switching to the kickers all around. Night and day difference from wha
  9. Hi guys and gals, I just wanted to drop in and say hello, and show off what I have done thus far. Some of it, you may all not agree with, but that's okay, and by no means do you have to go out and do it yourself. First, a little precursor. I purchased my '13 Spark LS manual in Salsa red from a local Ford dealer for as near as makes no difference to $8800 with 23k miles on the clock. I had been unceremoniously thrown into the car buying game again by a careless driver in an Exlporer, who crossed the center line and totaled my '03 Beetle. I am a tinkerer of sorts, the Beetle and vehicles b
  10. I just installed some aftermarket speakers and what a difference! For the extra $0.20 per vehicle GM should have used coaxials at least (and if you have the room why not a big standard size hole for the speakers?). I wonder though, I have been changing speakers in cars for 20 years and the stockers still have L shaped connectors but the speakers have 2 terminals side by side. I realize some cars might use something different but why don't the speaker guys use the same L shape for their terminals? Seems like a no brainer. My real question is, I have the base model and swapped the 4 sp
