  1. Hello everyone, this is my first post :P I bought a Spark 2016 2LT a couple of months ago, and I wanted to check if what happens after a hard braking is normal for a CVT. It happens sometimes, but not always. I've found a similar case to mine on a Nissan Forum. So, when I do a hard braking on my Spark (emergency stop, or because of a sudden stop in traffic), and that I come to a complete stop, if I press the accelerator immediately after, I have almost no power and the car feels sluggish. Then after a couple of seconds (sometimes less, sometimes more) it will accelerate. Sometimes after a hard braking, it will accelerate but very slowly. Sometimes not at all. I was wondering if that was normal with a CVT. My guess is that after a hard braking, the engine uses compression to help stop the car, and the CVT stays in "high gear". When I press the accelerator immediately after, the car computer hasn't had the time to adjust the CVT ratio and that is why there is a delay in the acceleration. However, that can sometimes be dangerous: for example if I need to accelerate quickly after stopping, and am unable to do so. On a similar note, I've found that when coasting, if I'm at 40 km/h (25 mph) or lower the car seems to brake on its own as though it was automatically using engine braking. Has anyone had something like that happen with their Spark? Is it a feature of the car? Thanks a lot for your answer!

  3. Hi, Im Joe, I have a 2013 Spark and I have aCar club that I am Trying to start her in Washington For mini cars. I would like to connect with people here to spread the word and also people to bounce ideas off of.
  4. My wife and I bought her a new 2013 Spark 2LT Lemonade last week. She was driving a 2000 Malibu that was pretty beat up, so she's loves this thing! I gotta admit, this car matches her personality and seems to be pretty nice so far. I drive a 2012 VW GTI, so I'm not against small cars at all. With the low starting price point, we were able to go for the fully-loaded 2LT, and I can say that we are very pleased so far with the additional features it provides. She has already received some great and amusing compliments from strangers on it, and she seems to be the only one in our town to own one at the moment. Just wanted to join this community to stay up to date with this new car. I'm interested in seeing what everyone's opinions are after driving it for a while. I'm also interested in keeping in the know about any issues that come up, tips and tricks, maintenance suggestions, highly rated accessories that become available, etc. I'll post some pics when I get the time if anyone is interested. So hello everyone and congrats to each of you on your own new ownership of a Spark! Best of luck!
