I cannot seem to get any clarity on whether the CVT fluid needs to be changed. Some say no it's a "lifetime" fluid others say 45,000mile intervals. The dealership quoted $240 to do it which seems steep, I was wondering if anyone knows the answer here, if so has anyone done it themselves?

I have previously posted about a concern I had about the CVT sometimes not resetting to the lowest ratio at a stopped condition, this made it very sluggish pulling out. I contacted Chevrolet Customer service on the forum with my concern and Jasmine replied. She checked up for me and found there may have been a TSB for my issue. She contacted my dealer and they called me and set an appointment for me to bring it in to be checked. I took it in and they found out it did need the TSB TI1309 to be performed to reprogram the TCM. They completed that this morning and so far it seems to have cured th

Hello everyone, this is my first post :P I bought a Spark 2016 2LT a couple of months ago, and I wanted to check if what happens after a hard braking is normal for a CVT. It happens sometimes, but not always. I've found a similar case to mine on a Nissan Forum. So, when I do a hard braking on my Spark (emergency stop, or because of a sudden stop in traffic), and that I come to a complete stop, if I press the accelerator immediately after, I have almost no power and the car feels sluggish. Then after a couple of seconds (sometimes less, sometimes more) it will acceler

Hi. Just bought a new 2017 Spark LT with CVT in Silver Ice. Pretty pleased so far. Build quality seems good, and the car feels bigger than it is. I'm used to driving a stick (my boyfriend can't), so had to go with the CVT. Not sure how I feel about the CVT so far -- seems to lag a bit. But it'll be nice to have in stop-and-go traffic. (I like Silver Ice, but I really wanted Splash. My significant other didn't. Some of the other colors (e.g., Toasted Marshmallow) just didn't work for me. I couldn't find much reliability data on the Spark, but given that it's built by GM K

2014 Chevy Spark ditching four-speed automatic for CVT Green Car Reports / The Chevrolet Spark, the smallest Chevy sold in the U.S., will get some mechanical changes next year, according to Christi Landy, the brand's small-car marketing director. The 2014 Chevrolet Spark, which will go on sale late this year, will offer a continuously-variable transmission (CVT) in place of the current four-speed automatic. READ MORE HERE
