  1. Perfect thanks. Pop the hood and the coolant reservoir was bone dry. No smoke and the engine is running fine and no leaks so I guess a trip to the dealer is in order. Love how you hit 50,000 miles on a car and it starts to fall apart.
  2. My spark is throwing a code about slow moving coolant, and I loose heat after about 10 min of driving. Anyone know what the normal operating temperature of the 1.2l is? I want to make sure it is not overheating. Thanks!
  3. I wanted to mention as well that Metra has had multiple revisions of the 99-3309 bezel. I somehow got a first generation that fit like poo. It is easy to tell if you have the first or second. on the backside of the bezel, if it is flat and flimsy, then you have gen 1. If it is fairly rigid and had raised ribs all through he back, you have gen 2. My gen 1 fit so poorly, I emailed metra, and the immediately sent me a gen 2. Amazing customer service there! I will be fitting the new bezel today and will let you all know how much better it fits. I can tell you already the vents snap in rather t
  4. From my reading I knew I was going to have to trim off about .25" off each side of the metra bezel. I grabbed a sharp xacto knife, flipped over the bezel, and slowly cut on the outside line of the trim. You will know what I mean when you see it. once that was removed, and after some very minor fitting, the bezel slid right over the deck. I had some difficulties wtih the bezel as I apparently received a first generation item that had some fitment issues. Metra was fantastic and sent me a new one with no issues. Just email their tech support, they are really quite good. By the way, it did com
  5. Installation: The installation, was a bit of a pain. Getting the factory dash bezel off to get the factory radio out was not easy. The plastic of the dash is very soft, and the bezel is REALLY secure. It does just pop off though, so persistence is key. Once off, I unscrewed the 4 screws holding the deck to the dash, pulled out the FHU, and disconnected everything. I put the FHU away for safe keeping. Next I opened the Pumpkin HU box, and pulled out the wiring harness and started joining the massive harness from the HU to the massive harness from the metra kit. It took a while, but is no
  6. I purchased the following from Amazon.com to get started. Metra 99-3309B (full kit, not the 99-3309B-LC): $114.99 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DUI5J6O?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00 Metra Antenna adapter (says it wont work on amazon, but it does): $10.99 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007WW64Y?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00 DoubleDin HU Mounting screws: $.13.95 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FMSBDYC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00. These are way overpriced, and I could have probably gone to a
  7. Yep... I got mine on amazon for $10.99 with free shipping http://www.amazon.com/Metra-40-EU55-Antenna-Adapter-European/dp/B0007WW64Y/ref=au_as_r?_encoding=UTF8&Make=Chevrolet%7C47&Model=Spark%7C21603&Year=2014%7C2014&ie=UTF8&n=1077068&s=car&vehicleId=6&vehicleType=automotive
  8. I wouldn't do it. I just installed a Pumpkin Pure Android head unit that does everything I could ever ask it to, and does it very well. All in all, I have $475 in it, and It can tether off my phone for WiFi, has Bluetooth that allows your phone AND Bluetooth ODBII devices to work simultaneously (for Torque), full android Play store for apps, comes with a decent navigation app, but I now use Google maps or Waze. I also use Amazon Prime Mp3 and SiriusXM apps for music. It is a pretty slick unit. Only thing you need to do to fit the unit is use an xacto blade to trim the back of the Metra bezel
  9. Anyone know how deep the crevice for radio is? I am looking at installing one of these and it is 176mm or 6.93" from the face to the rear: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PU14VKY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A35ICIJD64TUP8
  10. Getting ready to install the Metra 99-309b and its install depends if there is a factory amp. I dont believe there is on the LS, but thought I would ask. Any know know? Any other thoughts on the install of the Metra 99-309b?
  11. Got our letter thursday. made an appt. for tomorrow...we shall see!!
  12. So i have had one of the LEDs low beam lights go out. Given what they cost, I was NOT thrilled. However, the seller has been quick to reply, offer assistance, and is sending me a new bulb ASAP. I am hopeful to get it next week. Lets hope that I get a bit more life out of this next set. As for the concern about the fans, they work fine. I have gone through one of those touchless car washes, and multiple puddles and they seem to stay dry. I'll post again when I get my replacement.
  13. If someone would like to take a picture for me of the AC Fill port in the engine bay, I just happen to have a can in my garage, that I would be willing to top off my system with a few more PSI....
  14. Well, I have a '14, and it def was blowing cold, then cool, then cold, then cool when it was 90 degrees the other day. It would be cold, then get humid in the car, then cold again. The system was on recycle. Dont get me wrong, it was keeping the car comfortable, but it def was not working the way other cars ac works..
  15. The LED Headlights I put in work amazingly well. Good Pattern (Havent been flashed once), and are more than bright enough. High beams dont really work (they flash and add a little light to the upper part of the light pattern, but not enough to call them High Beams. However, I have not had to use them once, even while driving back country roads. I do get a little interference on the radio from them, only on channel 88.1 though. It just adds a bit of static when the station is weak. Installation was simple. just remove the factory bulbs, put in the new ones, and hook up the provided wires. E
  16. I will be eternally grateful if you figure out the mole x plug in the door grommet. I could not get it to pop out of the door jam. I am not happy with my setup, and would love to see it done right. In the old days, and maybe in the 2013, you could easily fish the wire through the rubber tubing, but now with the molex connector, those days are done...
  17. That could be. I didn't get into the door to see what pins did what. one of these days I will order a FSM, and have a good look at the wiring in the door. However, the Molex connector prevents you from easily running your own wires into the door through the facory grommet, which stinks.
  18. I was never able to get my hands on a wiring diagram, and the Bulldog system I bought didn't work, and tech support was horrible. I ended up going and buying an ebay special, http://www.ebay.com/itm/281145375724?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649, and so far it works as designed. I will get pictures for you as soon as it warms up and/or stops raining. FYI: the door grommet that passes through the wires from the cab to the door is a molex plug on the cabin side, so if you find a good way to route your wires, please be sure to share and take pictures. If you have an autom
  19. Well I do not have a final route yet. Currently, I am going from the interior to the exterior behind the trim, and then I have it going under the seal on the door and into the door through the grommet. This car has the stupid molex connector from the interior of the car to the exterior in that door grommet thing. Normally, I would just fish though there, but that no worky Once I have a better Idea, I will post. I jsut finished up the driver door, and after drilling about 6 holes, I finally got a location where the actuator works properly, every time, and does not hinder the operation of
  20. They are here, and installed. Simple installation, just remove the old bulb, install the new one, hook it up to the vehicle wiring, and your done. They work like a champ. Well, let me rephrase that. In the day light, all functions work. The DRL work, the headlights work, and the high beams work. I have some pictures of the old light compared to the LED. Much better light color, but I will wait until tonight to put up whether or not I think they are viable alternatives once I see them in action in the dark.. Good news though that initially, the do function where others have not. Shane.
  21. Lights were shipped out yesterday and should be here on Thursday. I will let you know how they work out as soon as I get them! The guys is talking about another group by if there is enough interest, so I will be sure to let you know if they are worth it.
