  1. While I get where you're coming from on this, I disagree with the idea that Disney likes to hang onto the classics. Here's an entire website dedicated to all the classics they've removed: http://extinctdisney.com
  2. Thought I'd come back and update this post now that Creeper has been in for a visit with the Dealer. The final answer on what the whitish dust is that is coming from my vents: Overspray of the coating they use on the box around the HVAC system. The service guys had no idea what to make of it and put a call into GM. Turns out they've had just a few reports of this (lucky me for being in such a minority) and have determined that's what it is. Apparently the temperature when running the heat makes the overspray more likely to flake off hence the reason I didn't notice it when running the AC this
  3. This is way over my head. I knew there were conventional, synthetic and blends and that they came in different viscosities but had no idea of this dexos1 specification stuff. Thinking even though I liked the idea of us doing the oil ourselves (once/if we can find the filters at the local auto parts store) I will still take it up to the dealer... I don't wanna have to even think that hard about it.
  4. Just an update, this morning as I was sitting at a red light I ran my gloved hand across the dash where the majority of the white stuff is. Upon closer inspection I noticed two things: 1) It's opaque and less white than it looks against the grey dash. 2) Just running my hand along it pretty much made it disappear in the sense that it went from being fine particles to dust. The only thing I can compare it to is the difference between running your hand along sugar and seeing the grains on your glove vs. running your hand through some baby power. What's odd about that is that with the Swiffer D
  5. Just called to setup an appointment for Creeper's first oil change at the dealer. I had wanted to go to someplace like Valvoline or Jiffy Lube but no one (still) has the oil filters in stock for the Spark yet so off to the dealer I go. While I was setting up the appointment I asked about how much the oil change would be. I mentioned that I assumed it wasn't too bad since it's just conventional oil vs. synthetic (used to drive a MINI Cooper so I am all too used to synthetic oil change prices). His response was that actually the Spark takes a "Semi-Synthetic" oil, not conventional. This is a new
  6. Ok so here's an interesting one for you guys. I'm at a loss and before I get her in for a check-up I figured I'd see if there's something obvious I'm missing... About 3 or 4 weeks ago was the first time I officially had to run the heat in the car. Heats up nicely, runs just fine, but I noticed when I went to clean out the car about a week or so ago that the entire dash was covered in a white powdery substance. It's very fine but larger than dust. Going in with a swiffer just moved it around vs. picking it up. At first I thought it was something to do with running the heat the first time and
  7. Just an update on this since there were 43 views and no responses (LOL) -- I did get this to work after resetting default applications on my phone using the steps in the blog I mentioned however it's finicky and only works when it wants to. I read somewhere that Android is trying to increase it's Bluetooth functionality/support so maybe when I upgrade some day it'll work more consistently!
  8. Hey folks! Wondering if anyone out there can help me with this one... So, after getting the Spark I decided that it'd be awesome to use that little Bluetooth button on my steering wheel to do more than just make phone calls. Unfortunately because I don't have an iPhone (and therefore Siri) I had to do some research to find a good Siri clone solution for Android. I found a bunch but all of them frankly sucked in the Bluetooth integration department and in a lot of cases just frankly sucked overall so I continued to do my research. Ultimately what I since discovered is that Google Now is a fan
  9. I just had to share this when I saw it this morning. There is a children's museum in Columbia, SC that we visit and I follow on Facebook. They posted up this album today. (I hope this link works) https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151655535964051.1073741828.43574789050&type=1
  10. Just a quickie update for everyone's benefit. I continued to have issues, at one point the wrong button would turn it on even, so I took it in yesterday morning for service. Dealer gave me a loaner to use until it was done and I had it through today as they needed to order a part. Turns out it was the SIR Coil which also controls the steering wheel air bag signal. Real glad to have had the cruise issue to have told me THAT part was bad. Sharing to encourage everyone to check your cruise every so often for that reason.
  11. Well as is typical... Cruise started working PERFECTLY again on my way to the dealer. LOL
  12. Think I'm having my first actual "issue" with the Spark (aside from a one-time odd moment where MyLink got stuck). This morning on the way into work I was using cruise with no issues. This afternoon after getting on the interstate I tried to turn it on again and no luck. The white light on the spedo won't come on and I can't set it (obviously if it's not on). Came to a red light, put her in park, turned her off and then started her back up... still nada. I have to go into the dealer tomorrow for minor service anyway (dealer installed option I paid for that they didn't put on) so I intend to me
  13. Yep you're right, even looking at the "brochure" (pdf) for the Spark the pictures don't show it going flat but just removing the headrests indeed does make it happen (or pretty dang close)!
  14. Well, honestly that doesn't seem to be something totally off for GM cars. My Saturn Ion was the same way. Thank you everyone for your help! Icepick is the hubby so he went out and figured it out after you guys posted!
  15. Sure it does... until you force your husband behind the wheel of it! One car family = he'd have to drive a pink car. LOL!
