  1. An update: nothing has really changed on this car, due to life events and world events taking priority... the good news? Things are beginning to settle down and the modifications are much more likely to resume sooner rather than later. I’ve decided to definitely take the car in a more “all terrain” direction with WRC inspired parts due to 1) the freaking roads around here and 2) I go off road a lot more than I realized for recreational activities such as fishing and camping. SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?! the lowering springs/shocks will be replaced with the OEM counterpart meant for the
  2. Hi sorry for the late replay, I only check this site once a month, I literally took a power saw and sliced off the old shift knob. Very messy, make sure to use plenty of protection for the carpets and seats and such due to metal shavings. I heard something about people doing it with a hot knife though, which sounds very plausible. These people then use a dremel to remove the remaining “knob” material and get an adapter for the shifter assembly. I highly recommend paying the extra money and getting the WEARELIKEWISE shifter adapter because it’s the only one I have used that doesn’t get loose ov
  3. I’m not aware of any that swap over. There are people running the old spark Megan coilovers on the new car but I tested it myself and it didn’t fit right
  4. I have found the LED headlights on EBAY ready to ship to the USA or anywhere else!!!! After lots and lots of digging here is the link: Passenger Side https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F123199429261 Driver Side https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F123199435618 very pricey but I for one will be getting them in the near future!
  5. No, I’ve tried this and spent quite a bit of money testing to see but it turns out nothing 2015 or older will fit the 2016 or newer sparks
  6. Could I get his email? I’ve messaged them before but never got anything back
  7. Definitely add your sparks to this thread! This is a great place to save progress and have a time capsule for us to go back to later. My spark is just over an inch lower front and rear, and the wheels stick out a decent amount, I don’t know exactly but I would estimate around an inch. The tread of the tire is exactly flush with the fender.
  8. Update on this, I personally tried the Megan racing coilovers and they DID NOT work for me... strangely I have seen 2 other sparks , both m400 running them. But the ones I got from Megan directly didn’t fit. I would recommend the H&R/STORM springs unless you want to shell out the BC racing money.
  9. I have done the DIY short shifter of simply cutting the original shifter about an inch and a half below the original point. Not a time consuming project but make sure to have a new shifter/adapter to take place of the old one. Also be ready for a ton of metal shavings. Other than that it’s all about having the right tools to do the job.
  10. This recall isn’t coming up when I look it up through all data? Not sure there’s any answers officially from GM but I doubt any reprogramming of the Tcm will change the shifting or mileage in a negative way, these cars are meant for low cost transportation so if there was some sort of modification to the cvt operation in terms of performance it would only be towards better fuel economy. My guess is it’s just a debug though.
  11. I have a 2017 LT 5spd and have had only 1 problem with it so far, every now and again the apple car play causes the screen to freeze on the “Chevy Mylink” screen. I think this might just be a problem with CarPlay though, as it goes away when I unplug and wait before I replay my phone. As far as mechanically speaking my spark has been flawless. 21k on the clock and I’ll be very surprised if it has any major problems before 100k. Even the plastic seems to be holding up well which is pretty impressive to me.
  12. Wheels are 15x8 +25 with 185/55/15 tires all around. Brand is F1R wheel is the F07. Temporary wheels I got on the cheap that I think look cool, will be changing out for rally style wheels. Metallic Paint is OHW Gunmetal Metallic aerosol. Will be changing out for a gloss black, probably OHW again. Shift Boot is custom by Naly Notions and Devotions or @naly_notions on IG. Shift Knob is from eBay, just look up brushed aluminium shift knob, it’s like $20 I think. Lowering Springs are the H&R Opel Karl springs, which have already been covered on the Spar
  13. Here’s a few more of the mods I’ve done, including my shift boot, knob (hmu if you are curious on how to do this job, I’m always happy to help.) as well as a few of the plastic bits I painted metallic gunmetal (going to redo and do all gloss black pretty soon.) 14. This is a thread for my 2017 Spark LT 5spd, I haven’t done much too it yet, just springs, wheels and a couple interior bits. I hope to be the first to swap in a built Sonic engine (1.4T) and build a rally ready spark (my history is with rally prepared MINIs) but for now I’m getting to know the car and what it is all about. i plan to keep up with it on here and as always on IG @speedyspeedboiii
  15. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F193166478973 I bought these coilovers for my 2017 at $650 on eBay thinking they would fit but they didn’t. The rears have anti seize on them but the front never came out the box for install so it’s all there and unused for only 450 and I am open to offers since I can’t make much use of them. Selling these to buy the more expensive BC racing Coilovers that are actually meant to fit my car.
  16. So it’s come to my attention that the m300 coilovers will fit the m400 spark. This is awesome since it means a set of Megan racing EZ streets with the stock rubber bushings will set you back $649 (w/free lower USA shipping) instead of having to drop the $995 on BC racing Coilovers. However, this has led me to wonder, due to a similar appearance that perhaps Chevy Sonic Coilovers will fit. If anyone has any info on this or a way to help me find out it would be so so helpful as it would open up even more options as far as performance suspensions and the like.
