  1. Good luck Skids, with whatever you drive.
  2. They sure screwed this forum up. Is this supposed to be an improvement?
  3. It's a new leftover 2015 LTZ, with the 1.4 liter turbo, w/ a 6 spd. auto trans. It handles well, soft ride but corners well, lots of goodies, remote start, backup cam, auto lights, the whole ball of wax. My buddy calls it the Spark Deville. Got you on the payment plan, cash up front, I like to sleep nights. Haven't had a chance to take any pix of the interior yet, I took out the rear headrests, they really block a lot, even through the rear view mirror.
  4. I would say there is not a whole lot of difference, outside of a hair more width, when actually sitting in the cabin, naturally, there is a little more length in the hatch. As far as getting in and out, I think that is due to the Sonic being a little lower off of the ground, a bit more of a squat to get in and out...
  5. Thanks, as you can see, I immediately ran out to the side moulding/vent visor store The one thing I've noticed, is the Spark is easier to get in and out of, gotta get some miles on her, but so far I am averaging 25/26 city.
  6. And here is my trusted Spark, sitting up at the dealership, cursing me out, big time. Whoever gets this car, is really getting a great deal.
  7. I stopped by my dealership today, just killing some time on a Saturday, and got to talking with the sales manager, it seems there is a general lack of interest in the new Sparks, although the older used ones are moving fairly well. He asked me if I would be interested in getting rid of mine, and walked me over to a beautiful '15 Sonic LTZ leftover, that was loaded with every option imaginable, bright silver ice paint, and offered me a 5 yr. bumper to bumper warranty, a couple of years of free maintenance, all at an insane price. I couldn't walk away from the deal. I honestly had a lump in my
  8. Good luck to you, this is a known issue, so they should be on top of it. Keep us informed, on how it goes.
  9. You can try the Mylink support # @ (855-478-7767)
  10. I finally got around to putting the Michelin on the rear yesterday, great fit, nice sweep across the glass. No problems, I would recommend this one as a good option.
  11. Nice, I got a real kick out of the Spark police car...
  12. You might want to check out this old thread..... http://chevysparkforum.com/topic/882-scratches/page-1
  13. That's a bummer, I'm going to let this recall ride.
  14. I caught the drift, I just couldn't believe they issued a recall. At times those chimes are a pain in the ass, mine works, so I guess I can skip this recall.
  15. No, that shouldn't happen. It sounds like the mechanism is sliding on the track. Try reengaging the adjustment handle under the seat.
  16. Thanx for the link to the CR review. It is nice to see a good review for a change, and I sincerely hope it is accurate. The "test pilot" doesn't appear to be much of a qualified automobile critic. This is one of the reasons that the majority here doesn't have much faith in the Consumer Reports reviews. Don't misunderstand my post, I wish all the new '16 owners the best with their new purchases, and I hope the new Sparks are an improvement. I just don't have much faith in their critiques, crucifying my 2013, after 3+ years of driving it, particularly with the problem free 4 spd gearbox.
  17. There were actually two recalls on the a/c, from what I recall. Honestly, there was a marked improvement, but I feel it still could have been better. Retired Old Gearhead, on this forum, shot a little extra freon into his system, and said there was an improvement, that he is happy with. Hopefully he will see this post, and chime in. If your bumper to bumper is still in effect, there should be no diagnostic fees, if not, I would consider an independent. GM labor rates, are off the charts. Keep the group informed.
  18. Gossamer gave you some good options, it also wouldn't hurt to try another dealership, but don't quit, keep climbing the ladder. Call GM corporate, if you have to take it that far, Google the names of some GM big shots in Detroit, get their phone numbers, and call. Now you know you won't get to talk to the man himself, but some assistant will answer the phone, and ask what it is you need to speak to him about. This is exactly what I did, with a minor problem I had in the beginning. I finally hit an assistant, who was sympathetic, and put me in touch with public relations guy, who did solve my
  19. ROG, just as a heads up, for 2016, the warranty has been downgraded to 5yr/60K powertrain, on most new GM vehicles.
  20. The few issues that were annoying with the 2013-2015 models, were addressed, and through a series of recalls, were rectified by GM. Outside of some occasional assorted problems that may popup, such as with any make or model of car, including Honda, the first generation of Sparks are solid. As far as the 2016 generation of Sparks, it is still to soon to tell, as there are not many on the road, or on this forum, up to this point. As more 2016 owners join the forum, then we will be able to make a better determination, using their input. As far as the a/c, it is presently good, on all gens.
  21. Contact Chevy Customer Care located here on the forum http://chevysparkforum.com/user/829-chevrolet-customer-care/ They can be very helpful. If you were the original owner your power train warranty would cover the head gasket. If it was a certified purchase, I believe that would also be covered. You mention that you have a warranty, the question is, what does it cover? The girls at the Customer Care Center will contact the dealership, get the needed information, and give you the guidance you need, just click the above link, and send them a pm, explaining your problem. Let the group know how yo
  22. Metal shavings in the engine? No advanced symptoms, or strange noises? A trip from hell, and it is a major inconvenience, but fortunately, it sounds like you are dealing with a decent dealership, and GM is standing behind it. Let us know the how and why of the shavings.
