so due to the drought in LA its been a hassle to figure out when i could actually wash my car.

Some sites say "all you need is a shut off nozzle" others say "every other day" some say "only on Wednesdays" i dunno.

Been a mothers products user since i got my spark but i saw some stuff at Walmart the other day

    $7.88 each

the wax i wont buy again but the wash wipes. Wow they're awesome cleaned all the crap and dirt of my car. Used about 6 wipes for the whole car "it was really dirty" but id say 4 wipes would do it next time. Nice smell too.

Wax didn't seem to work as well as the wash wipes.

but then my dad got out this stuff

this stuff is awesome and leaves the color popping as if i just rolled it off the assembly line. Love mothers but definitely sticking with this from not on.

    Also bought these $7.88

these also work great for the Trim and wheels. Havent seen the trim look like new since i bought the car. Used 1 sponge for 3 cars. after a few days touched up the spark and used 1 sponge for all 4 tires, All trim platic on the car and even on the plastidip i have on the spoiler

    last but not least .99cents

picked this up at the dollar store and again works great on my wheels after putting on a fresh coat of Plastidip and Glossifier.

next time ill be trying out this

there you have it. hope this helps anyone looking to keep their car clean

These are rear head rests from 2000ish beetle . The fronts from the beetle will not fit in the spark well but the rears fit front and rear of the spark perfectly

I replaced all 4 headrest with headrests from a 2000 vw beetle . They have the holes in the center so you can see thru and looks awesome tilt and raise!

I had to do something to solve the headrest issue of being too far forward. My wife had her hair in a small bun and it was right against the headrest. I pulled the headrest out by using a small screwdriver to push in the opposite side of the normal adjuster. It came right out then. I turned it around and slid it back in. It stays down all the way now. It won't click in when it's flipped around, but it has stayed down. It is comfortable and still offers some protection in case somebody rearends you. This is about an 8 minute job.

I'm using Optimum ONR -Optimum No Rinse,
it works great and leaves a nice shine, also makes a little bit of beading, and the most important it dosn't heart your wax

It was weird not rinsing the car, but the soap seemed to do a great job. Clean and shiny and oh so easy to do.

Thanks for the Great feedback. I feel better about my purchase This car has 12k so i'll take gearhead's advice to go to full synthetic oil. this is for my daughter and I'll make sure she follows the advice that was given on the forum.
I'll post pic's of her car soon

OK...The whole idea of a CVT tranny is to keep the rpms within a short but steady range at a certain longer band of torque and the CVT runs thru a range of gears to speed up or slow down the car...saves on gas..now that is the CVT theory. In order for that to work, the engine needs to have enough torque at a broad and low rpms...this is the case with the 2016 engine..designed to work with a CVT. The 2015 and earlier engines were not designed with the CVT in mind...they depend on a higher rpm to get torque and the manual or the 4sp auto tranny on the 2013 work well with that kind of engine. If your engine is randomly revving high rpms it is a CVT problem of not finding the right gear or slipping out of gear...sounds like yours needs the CVT recall for a reprogram at the very least. As far as a mistake to buy this car..probably, as it is a hit or miss in getting one with a proper CVT tranny, but even so the engine has such a short power band that is beyond me why they would ever put it in the units with the 1.25L engine..sounds like an experiment that failed with a very high volume of complaints and now that they have the correct engine in the 2016 to work with a CVT, the CVT itself still has problems but easier to correct...that's my take on this whole CVT thing.

UPDATE: The dealer came down in price and we reached an amicable agreement in which I became the new owner of a 2013 Spark 1LT!

This car is awesome! It has so much character and is such a great value! I've read of a lot of complaints about the MyLink system, but I'm impressed. Compared to my wife's 2012 Jetta, the sound quality from Bluetooth streaming music is significantly better. And it rides so much quieter also. Very surprising!

The engine tugs this car around with spirit! My one qualm at this point is the transmission feels a little sloppy. It shifts perfectly smooth and I'm not having trouble finding gears, but there is excessive movement forward and aft when clutching in, applying throttle, letting off throttle, etc. It's likely I'll be refreshing the transmission mount(s) and, if possible, upgrading the bushings to something stiffer like polyurethane. I did that on my old GTI and it improved the feel and engagement of the transmission noticeably. the trade-off being a little more engine vibration through the cabin. Also, I've been searching around for some short throw shift kits and see folks just shortening the shifter arm. I wish someone sold a true short throw since I like the height of the shift knob as is, but I haven't found one.

Also, I'm noticing a gear whine of sorts that is correlated with speed. Sounds like its transaxle related. But hey, the tranny shifts like butter and the car drives so I'm gonna live with it 'til it breaks. Hah!

I'd post pictures but I haven't taken any yet. Besides, you guys know what a bone-stock Salsa Red 2013 Spark looks like.  I hope to be a positive contributor to this forum community.

    Aloha!

I just picked up a 2014 Spark, so far so good! Put some aftermarket wheels on it today, think it looks nice! Fun little car to drive, although would love to increase the power. Also need a few parts!

Anyone doing a part out? I did a few searches but couldn't find anything!

    Cheers guys!
