CVT slipping and Dealer won't look at it
Mr.tozzi replied to JulieT's topic in Lounge: Chevy Spark Discussion
They really cannot check the transmission, they dont rebuild, nor repair the cvt, if it is broken they will replace it. They will not do anything for you until they can see the problem happening or get a fault code. You can try another dealership, and hope they can find the problem. -
Dremmell or hack saw the shifter below the knob, then install a universal knob.

I was able to get the transmission fluid temp and the engine oil temp after playing around with the torque app. It needs gm pids to get the sensor readings. Settings/manage extrap pids/sensors from the menu on the top right pick add pre defined set. After that it will show on the list to add the displays.

The $100 is probably the deductible on your warranty contract, so no matter if it costs $101 or $10001 you will come out only $100 out of pocket. It is cheaper to do it yourself.

Disconnect the battery for a good 15min. Get a obd2 scanner, they are dirt cheap on amazon or ebay. Or go to a car parts store and ask them to clear it for you. Some codes will turn the cel off after a certain number of ignition cycles without the issue.

AC instantly went from cold to hot
Mr.tozzi replied to LeoMighty7580's topic in Chevy Spark 2007-2015 (Gen III)
No need to post the same thing in different sections, if someone has not answered they dont have an answer or have not read your post yet. Now the next thing is take your car to a real mechanic so it can be diagnosed. -
Seat Belt Replacement?
Mr.tozzi replied to virginiaspangled's topic in Interior Trim, Seats, Seat Belts, Covers, etc.
A new oem belt assembly would cost you over $200 not including install. Installing is easy, its just removing a few trim parts unbolt the old and bolt new one, you just need to find the torque specs for the fasteners. There are some places that repair belts, but i have never used such service, plus i would never trust a used pulled from another car or repaired belt to protect my child. -
I'm actually curious of what is causing it. I have the build up on my intake hose also, it does not concern me as the car works fine, but it bothers me as it is a pain to clean up, I like to keep my engine bay clean.
-
The big question is, what stopped working? Is it not blowing air? Is it not cooling air? Or is it not heating air? You are beyond your bumper to bumper warranty so it will be an out of pocket expense. And yes it can get expensive, and don't go buying the recharge kit from a car store or walmart, you can do a lot of damage if you dont know what you are doing.

It may be just an oil spill from an oil change that is gathering dust. Undo the clamp remove and wash the hose off, let it dry and check for cracks. I got the same buildup on mine. Does not concern me, my oil level is good, the engine is running fine and i have no dirt past the filter. When did you last change that filter? Get a new filter and dont get k&n judging by all the dust under the hood a k&n filter would just get dirty and get your engine full of dirt.

Powered small subwoofer
Mr.tozzi replied to sparkjay's topic in Audio, Navigation, MyLink and Navigations
I think it may not work... doesnt seem like the newer mylink unit has a 44pin plug on it. -
Only turbo cars sound good without mufflers, naturally aspirated engines and supercharged engines most sound like ass and are really too loud without a muffler.

Mystery Coolant Light & now Malfunction Indicator Light
Mr.tozzi replied to a topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Well. If your coolant is low you have a leak somewhere, probably the coolant tank leaking which is an easy fix, just need a new coolant tank. Now if you keep getting low on coolant you need to address it yourself or have someone fix it before you overheat the engine and cause bigger issues. -
Walk in to the parts counter at the dealer and ask.

Are you using different gas, are you driving in a different route than before? Is that number out of a bunch of short city runs or out of your commute? Is your air filter clean? Is your tire pressure correct? There are too mamy factors that affect gas mileage, and your mood alsp counts. I can get as high as 43mpg and as low as 22 depending on my driving style alone.

Interior Front/Rear/Cargo LED lights
Mr.tozzi replied to jibb3r's topic in Interior Trim, Seats, Seat Belts, Covers, etc.
If you want them to turn on only when the hatch opens all you need is a plunger switch and find a good spot to install it. -
Same car. Dont waste your money with an intake, you will not get any power out of it and the car works better on the stock intake.
-
Too soon to expect any consistent mileage out of it. You should let that engine rev for the first few thousand miles and not be baying it to get gas mileage. If you have not changed your oil yet you should do it very soon.
