Cold air intake, check engine light
Do0ks replied to Forgotten7angel's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I was thinking about getting a jet mas for proper readings but unsure if it'll work with the car. But overall no issues with it and noticeable gains. The blue cable is for my HID lights. -

The Injen SP7080P works like a charm on mine -
Put an exhaust in her. Sounds awesome. Able to achieve higher rpm with the exhaust and the CAI

IDK about all that but to me, It feels better. I don't know if it's just the sound, but it feels impressive. I've been switching between the stock box and the ram intake for some time so getting an accurate feeling on both tells me its definitely positive gains. Its like if the two had sex, this injen would be the baby.

Yes. I got a injen intake system that works flawlessly with my car. No lean on banks, sounds beautiful, very little gain in performance as expected. Once I get my catback and a stage 3 performance chip in it will I really start seeing a gain. However the reason for this post is to share the wealth, the injen sp7080p is confirmed and working.

I looked out my window and noticed something hanging off my bottom of my car. A random hose. Anyone know what this is to?
-
Yes, be happy to share! Give me a few.

Also, Can anyone tell me what the engine displacement is? I'm not 100% but I have a 1.2L so this in cc would be 1200. Correct?
-
Yeah, I just remove it. I'd love someone to try stealing the car and be like, wtf? Lol. It's quite surprising how well the tablet runs everything without any lag or issues. Plus, for every hour of use it only uses 11% battery.

So just wanted to give an update. I ran it all day today with no issues at all. Let me tell you its so much better having that tablet. The only thing i really see being affected is the turning singles now do not click while on... Im very okay with that. Ill include some clear pics of it here. Also, If for whatever reason people want to know all apps, tools and or fixtures i used to accomplished this i will be glad to share.

Well, Its done lol. I didn't take pictures of the disassembly as it is very straight forward. I found this video with the same disassembly process. And here is the results lol.

Awesome! I was hoping that was the case. Thank you for responding.

My idea involves removing the current cluster and running everything from a tablet. The only this the tablet isn't capable of doing is reading the current total mileage witch im okay with. However I want to make sure that the miles isn't stored inside that cluster. Im guessing its not, how would you replace it? Ideas? Im also slightly concerned with the cars functionality after the cluster is detached. Will it run? Im guessing yes but.

New Short Ram/Cold Air Intake in 2013 Chevy Spark
Do0ks replied to Do0ks's topic in Accessories & Modifications
This is a great idea. I'm gonna have to try that. I also was thinking about just buying a new stock box at http://www.gmpartsdirect.co/chevrolet/spark/96910364/2013-year/ls-trim/1-2l-l4-gas-engine/engine-cat/air-intake-scat/?part_name=air-cleaner-body and taking the old one and customizing it. Basically take out the grill tube and corking off that opening and drilling a hole where the resonator box used to go and throwing my 3 inch duct there. Also, drilling another hole the same size as the resonator hole is somewhere else on the box. That's just so if for whatever reason I can open that and- 38 replies

New Short Ram/Cold Air Intake in 2013 Chevy Spark

Basically move everything up the way it was in the last, taper off from the silver 2.25" to 2.50" to 3" to hook into the 3" air filter. Does that make sense? I figured if the problem is to much air. Let's throw some curves to slow things down. It might not work but if anyone can think of things to why this wouldn't work that would be awesome.- 38 replies

New Short Ram/Cold Air Intake in 2013 Chevy Spark
Do0ks replied to Do0ks's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Yes. I've been doing a lot of research on this and you and skids are %100 right. I'm back to stock for now but going to work on another build. It sucks, I really wanted a short ram but obviously that's not going to work. It's just getting air to quickly making the O2 sensor detect to much oxygen in the exhaust making a lean condition. Obviously doing a cat back to solve this issue isn't going to work. I've only seen bad things to come from p0171 so I need to get this right. I just hate the idea of taking off my bumper to change a air filter. I'm going to post a picture of the layout in the ne- 38 replies

New Short Ram/Cold Air Intake in 2013 Chevy Spark
Do0ks replied to Do0ks's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Yeah that's exactly what I'm thinking. Really I've tried everything. Seems like the only other thing I can do is get the fuel per pounds air ratio adjusted in the computer of the car. Idk. Maybe octane boost will even that shit out? Lol. Maybe I'll just drill a damn 3 inch hole in the stock box and tape everything else up for now. Damn- 38 replies

Okay. I do have a check engine code that popped out. It's p0171. Not to sure what it could be. I'm guessing maybe the exhaust might be restricting? Seems to be with the fuel side of things per Google. Damn sparks has 2 mufflers on it. Idk tho so maybe someone can help out. Working on a cat back now. Thanks guys. Actually, looking more into it, looks like the damn intake still.- 38 replies

I remember not having it plugged in in the first pic because of idle issues. It wouldn't even drive down the road.- 38 replies

New Short Ram/Cold Air Intake in 2013 Chevy Spark
Do0ks replied to Do0ks's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Calm down guys, wait till my next build lol. That was temp. My new pipes should be here tomorrow and it'll be correct all ways around. That breather has to work for now because the damn maf harnes isn't long enough to switch the vacuume line and the sensor. But I'm getting 2.25" pipes in and drilling the hose spot in it so the sensor doesn't have to move down. I'll probably add an extension on so it's not so short. We'll see soon.- 38 replies

Yeah. I'm completely re-doing this. This time I'm cutting all the tubs I've noticed it's running a lot smother with 2.25" leading into 3" tubes and drilling my breather into the 45 degree bend. As for all the other issues their fixed. I'll post when the new intake is in.- 38 replies
