  1. Senyah you are 100 percent correct I permed two geo metros and they were great cars. I don't give a darn what consumer reports or anyone else says about a car I drive.i bought and drive a spark because they are a great little fuel efficient car! I love all the features my 2lt has even heated seats! My metro s never had nor was all the features available back then on those. The spark gets beat up by CR and the eps ratings for fuel milage. I have only had one tank I've gotten less than 40 mpg and my most recent jaunt I went round trip to Niagra falls Canada and averaged 47 mpg driving the speed
  2. Best car 1986 Chevrolet Caprice classic 4.3 girl injected v-6 200k with only regular maitenence items replaced lost it in a divorce. Worst car 1978 ford pinto cam went out at 50k and a bunch of little stuff Inhearited it when I got married(same women cars were ten years apart from ownership)
  3. I love small manual cars that get great fuel economy and you cannot beat a spark for options in a small car. It has been great and I don't regret buying it! Great value!
  4. Great info jibb do you remember the sticker price? I see 2016's on eBay I wonder if they are in stock or just pre selling?
  5. Yeah kinda hard to imagine $200 filter. Like 1000 percent markup????
  6. Go to rockauto.com they have ac Delco filters for the spark and the last time I bought them they were less than 5 bucks plus shipping. If you buy something else greatly reduces shipping. I buy several at a time so I have them in stock a greatly reduces cost I did my first oil change on mine a while ago and it took like 4 1/2 quarts to bring it up where it's Spose to be on stick. 200 bucks for a filter is laughable!
  7. Has to do with the pcv valve recall. Bad pcv valve from the factory causes internal engine damage if it was not replaced early in the cars life. Sounds like they did the right thing for you and I hope the issue is taken care now. Should be a great reliable car for you and last even longer now!
  8. There is no talk about discontinuing the spark. What the heck is he talking about. They are rolling out new restyled 16 models with higher eps estimates. As for the pinto being a well built car yeah right I have had two of those nightmares years ago! I can laugh bout it now horrible vehicles!
  9. Air conditioning does not come on when you have it in defrost mode. You have to manually ouch the ac button in order for the pump to run. My 13 2lt has illuminated steering controls. And yes I agree there should be a engine temperature gauge I am considering adding one. All the post of the one in the radio are for oust side temperature not engine temperature.
  10. Not buying the myth either. 6000 plus miles on my second oil change and pcv valve replacement not a drop of oil used. Not blaming a car or Gm for a supplier part failure. Plus I think these cars were already proven around the world before arriving in are market.
  11. I'm glad you have gotten your issues fixed. Mine only took one trip and they were very good to me. That could just be the difference between dealers though.
  12. The trouble seems to be just a few posters that keep posting the same things over and over about thier displeasure with some service and a few issues that they had not nessssary that all spark owners have had. All model cars are gonna have issues and failures that doesn't mean that every car of the same make is gonna be the same problem. I think Gm handled the few problems they had with the recalls at least in my case they did. My local dealer was great in doing this and getting it done.
  13. Comparing a compact car to a jeep Cherokee is like cam paring apples to oranges. It's a low cost highly optioned fuel efficient sub compact. I have always owned a sub compact to drive. I have had 2 pintos(horrible experiences so I won't bash) 2 chevettes(great little cars) 2 metros( excellent kettle cars) and I am always amazed at what people had to say about them. Junk inferior or whatever. My chevettes and metros where all in the 190000 mile range when I updated and all still run fantastic. The metro fuel economy was and still is amazing. I had a 3 cylinder and a 4 cylinder both 5 speeds. I
  14. I had the hood latch pcv valve and the ac recall done a couple months ago. I am 100 per satisfied with my local Chevy desler and what they did. Air conditioning is great now before it was less than acceptable. They replaced the compressor and new harness. Love this little car!
  15. Heat is pretty much great. Was 11 degrees here in Ohio this week and my 2013 2lt with heated seats is nice and toasty
  16. My absolute best was just a hare over 51 mpg normally average around 44-45 absolute worst was 37 mpg this was on a very high winds against me at 70 mph. I figure my mpg by alternating using on board and good ok math. 2013 2lt 5 speed manual
  17. Thanks ray, I'm watching the ones on eBay now. The ones on Amazon look like the original carpet ones. Looked both places before and couldn't find what I was looking for so I thanks you!
  18. Depends on if you have a 2lt with the rocker molding? I had to custom cut the fronts because of it. Rears are just okay
