  1. Only owned our 14 Spark for one month and 1,000 miles later we are still as happy with it as when we bought it. I tell folks, "it's the funnest go cart I've ever driven".
  2. I experimented this am with the front seats. There are only 2 bolts at the rear (15mm, don't know the thread yet) for each seat holding the seat to the body. The front part of the seat rail is hooked to the body and there are no bolts holding the front rail. So that makes the front part of the seat virtually impossible to gain any height. All the bolts are secured with loctite, so it will take a little muscle to back them out. There is approximately 1/2" of "play" that can be used to elevate the rear part of the front seat using washers or spacers under the seat frame rail and still have en
  3. Does anyone have the same minor issue with the front seat(s) height? The driver's side has an adjustment, but still does not provide the height comfort I'm used to. The passenger side is non adjustable and that too should be higher off the floor. Has anyone considered a method of raising the seat height? I have tried the seat cushions, etc. but they just don't stay in the proper position for too long. I was thinking of after market seat risers or some sort of spacer between the seat rails and the floor to raise the seat an inch or two. Any thoughts? I know GM does't care or appear to ca
  4. I bought my 14 Spark used with original tires and rims. I am now approaching 45,000 miles. I have pleanty of tread left but know the time will come to replace the 185/55/15 Goodyears. I am considering going to 195/55/15 tires on the stock rims. I'm wondering if anyone else has experience good or bad with this size tire on the stock rim. Any suggestions or comments are welcomed. Thanks.
  5. Well, that didn't take long. I finished securing the spare in the Spark. I owe thanks to whomever wrote about the 4 threaded studs in the spare area. The nut size is truly 8mm x 1.25. A quick trip to Lowe's for all the hardware then got started early. I mounted a plate with 4 holes to the studs, attatched a 1/2" x 7" long threaded rod in the center for the spare lock down nut. I had to manufacture a 4" round plate with a center hole to secure the tire/rim. I used fender washers and appropriate sized nuts to secure everything. That spare is not going ANYWHERE and no rattles or sqeeks!
  6. Okay, here's what I did. I really did want a spare and not have to use the supplied compressor and goop stuff. After reading all the issues with the lack of a spare in the Spark, I took one of the stock rim/tire off to see if it would fit in the recess. It fit like a glove at least in my Spark! I wanted a like rim but could not see spending the amount people/dealers/others wanted for the oem rim. I opted to buy a Unique 83 generic rim from Discount Tire Direct for $59.00 delivered. I did confirm with them that there were no issues with the fit, especially for the front caliper assemblies.

    Welcome, Ken

I've been monitoring this forum since acquiring the 2014 Spark LS. Lots of good info and insight on board and have enjoyed reading and getting familiar with our little Spark. Nice to be a member now. It's a great all around car for the city and SHORT trips. Does real well for the visiting grand child. I bought it used and have run nearly 3 tanks of fuel through it so far. Averaging 38 MPG, which was totally unexpected.....great gas mileage in relative comfort for a small car. I have taken care of the lack of spare tire issue which I will post in that appropriate subject line and topic la
