  1. On my NEW 2018 1LT Spark as promised on previous post. Lots of improvements and in no special order I will try to state the improvements as I see them....14 more horse power with about 1 mpg less than my 2015 Spark ( 39.4 mpg average so far)...CVT performs great and has a new soft whirring sound as it shifts gears (range), sounds good actually...A matted no glare dash covering...Larger side rear view mirrors...Textured steering wheel almost as good feeling as leather...

Angled ignition key hole so it is easier to locate/see...Gauge cluster more car like, doing away with motorcycle style...improved cruise control buttons...placement of power window buttons so you don't have to search back and forth for them...Some padding on arm rests now... No more BRINGO and much improved CAR PLAY system instead (free)...improved windshield washers (4 spray nozzles)...A REAL spare tire (donut)...Back up camera...Headlights much improved (no dark areas)...Super quiet interior with zero wind noise at highway speed (Really)...Improved styling (lower roof line with better looking front area and tail lights)...Alloy wheels easier to clean with more space between spokes...Here are some things changed for the worse (nit picking)....Pull down handle on trunk lid has been turned around and is not convenient now. Tires are China made now, but they seem OK.....So there you have it folks, 2300 miles so far and very happy with my purchase.  WISH ME LUCK !

Almost forgot that it has factory installed fog lights too....I was always going to put them on my 2015 Spark but never did. Only thing I am missing on this 2018 model is a sun roof. Oh Well.

  2. Look what I went and did....In 01/25/2019 I bought a left over 2018 1LT Spark....Only had 36K on my 2015. Really like all the improvements on this 2018 model. CVT definitely feels different (way better, no bunny hop for one thing) I will post later on all of the great improvements. 2000 miles and am loving this thing....So Far.

  3. Finally took back to the dealer on the bunny hop tranny problem. They had it for a week. Service manager admitted he experienced the hop and said it was normal for this car. I have sixteen thousand miles on it now and I now experienced a new Intermittent reving of the engine when going 40 or 45 mph. Needles to say, that is why I finally took it in, for the bunny hop and now the new problem which it has only done a few times now. Any way it looks like it is NORMAL.....NOT HAPPY AT ALL. I am not sure what I will do next.
  4. Took it to the dealer for "Transmission Software Update".....Did not notice an improvement in the bucking problem. In fact I did not notice any difference at all. However at first I imagined an improvement, but I figure it was my wishful thinking. Sometimes now it actually seems worse. I just said to the wife the other day that I should take it back to the dealer, but I am afraid they might mess up my gas milage or something worse. I can stop the bucking if I let off the gas OR step on it to go faster. What a shame....I might actually be getting an engine miss fire now. I put a tank of high te
  5. Here it is March 2016 and I am still putting up with the bucking problem. I keep telling myself that I need to take it to the dealer again, but I hate to go there. The problem has not really gotten any worse, even thru the (not very cold) winter. Low and behold, I just got a letter from GM to bring my car in for a (wait for it) "transmission software update." So as soon as I can I will check this out. Still lovin the car other wise. Got about 10900 miles on it so far....Anyway, wish me luck. :o)
  6. My 2015 1LT has been doing the bunny hop almost since new. Only on slow take offs, which is how I drive. Had it to the dealer at about 3000 miles (now has 4800 miles on the odo) I kept telling myself it wasn't that bad and was living with it. It did seem to be getting worse so I took it in. They kept it over night and found everything NORMAL. Well I am still trying to live with it BUT sometimes it is really bad, bucking so bad that I just can't keep ignoring it. Thankfully, it doesn't hop real hard most of the time. At first it seemed only on first take off after starting it up. Now it will do
  7. Ford C-Max.... Only 10,000 dollars more than a Spark 1LT..... I would hope that it is a little better than the Spark....Saw that it only got 3 out of 5 for reliability in the reviews. Anyway, Good Luck with it.
  8. Took my 2015 1LT to dealer here in Melbourne, Florida for bucking and lurching on slow take offs. I always try to start off slow until the engine is pretty well warmed up. Some times it does the bucking after sitting for only about 30 minutes. I really like this car and was even willing to put up with it when it was only once in awhile and not too severe. Well, it gradually got worse, so I took it in. They kept it over night and said it drove perfect. How about that? I also printed out the TSB thingy and gave it to them, of course they said it was up to date. So now I AM putting up with it and
  9. I have a 2015 Spark. I can turn my DRLs off with switch on end of stalk. It is a momentary switch that returns to Auto but will leave the lights off when actuated. My reason is for more power to the starter when starting, more power to the windows when rolling up or down and also better gas milage. I am averaging 41.7 mpg at this time. (averaging all fill ups). Most of that is in town (about 2/3rds). Have 3300 miles on car so far. Reason # 3, if you think about it, it takes energy to produce LIGHT. Generating energy takes FUEL. However, at times I will leave the driving lights on, such as on a
  10. Had a Magnaflow model 11225 stainless oval muffler installed today on my 2015 1LT. Straight thru design and sounds great, actually pretty quiet. This is sorta like having your cake and eating it too. Straight thru but not LOUD and looks like original as well, all except a 2.25 inch turned down end (instead of 1.5 in.) that is barely visible. Still have the rest of the original stainless exhaust system. I could not be happier.
  11. O'Reilly Auto Parts has WIX brand oil filter part # WL10001 for $8.99.
  12. 5 weeks old...2015 1LT. Still can't stay out of it. 40+ MPG. CVT tranny is great all except fake shift points GM added. I really don't understand why people seem to HATE this transmission. People will brag about how SMOOTH a regular automatic shifts but want to feel fake shifts in the CVT. Anyway, I really like my Spark so far.
  13. 2015 1LT Spark 3 days old. CVT is the way to go in this car. Too bad they had to put false shift points in to satisfy the public. What can be better than SMOOTH acceleration from start to whatever speed you want? Would be 5 star experience for me, but I will settle for 4.5 star rating, only because of fake shift points. Really looking forward to the gas milage. Traded a PT Cruiser GT convertible with high output turbo (230 HP) That thing would hustle. Well, on second day of Sparky I just had to nail it from a dead stop to about 50. Amazing is the best way to describe my feelings. Of course not
  14. Nice...What kind of exhaust?
