  1. Beyond excited to see the end result. I came across this while wondering how to tune my 2013's ECU. I have always thought about trying my hand at a turbo now that I'm past warranty... and after driving my new (to me)mini cooper s, the spark takes patience to drive. I am curious since the 13-15 sparks are just about the exact cars, would they all be e78 ECUs? Its hard to find definitive evidence of that. I have been very interested in some more modest upgrades lately. Good luck! Keep us posted!
  2. I have also had this problem. I think the ceramic pads wear the rotors faster than the pads wear themselves! I had quite an edge left on my rotors, and they rusted pretty significant on top of that. You could hear me coming from miles away.. rock auto sold rotors for pretty cheap so i threw new ones on
  3. I've had about 6 gallons collect in my spare tire area before, destroying two 1200 watt amps. that was a sad day. It turns out that when I took my taillight out, I forgot to put the grommet around the wire back into the hole the wiring harness goes through... Stupid mistakes
  4. What year? It may be under warranty of corrosion.
  5. I find it easier to drive when i can feel it vibrate. I listen to loud, loud obnoxious bass in my car as well, so anything i can FEEL instead of hear is better for me to drive. My car has rumbled one time idling in neutral after startup, but i can't say it was bad or a malfunction
  6. Ideally you want temperatures above 60 degrees, it's just a matter of how the solvents release out of the paint when it's drying. Since the car is black, all black paints look the same, and you can use any black you want and it won't stand out. However if you had a white car, and got a very similar color but not the same, it will stand out like a sore thumb. The paint that comes on almost all cars now is a urethane based paint, and I would recommend that because lacquers can come off with some chemicals; but it's still not likely that you're gonna splash paint thinner on your car anyhow. If
  7. Living in snowy areas is horrible, all the salt brine they put on the roads is rediculous. Get a product called Fluid Film or Transtar's Amber Rustproofing. The sparks have plugs in front of the rear wheel wells and on the bottom of the rockers (part underneath your doors, common rusthole) and go to TOWN spraying that stuff. Spending a few dollars on a can is better insurance than paying some bearded man to hackjob your rockers just to inspect the car several years from now. Fluid Film is also great for almost anything, it's an awesome lubricant and PLEASE (being a bodyman/mechanic) lube your
