  1. Interesting that I come across this now after my shift cable breaks. The past few weeks I had been thinking that my clutch pedal felt kinda sticky and tense. It wasn't smooth like it had been before
  2. Well guys, I'm sitting here waiting for a tow truck. I used to love my Spark but now the reality has set in. It's just not a reliable car. On top of that, Moran Chevrolet in Clinton Twp, MI is THE WORSE dealer I could have ever purchased a car from. After months of pointless back and forth repairs and several rental cars they finally replaced the engine in my Spark. It was at 31,000 miles. I get my car back and at the end of the day it is overheating. The derelicts didn't connect a hose properly and it disconnected leaking coolant while I was driving. The next day I pick it up and drove may
  3. Well guys, here's another update on Silvia: I got it back 4 days ago now. The first thing I checked after getting her was the oil level. It was topped off and the information center said oil life was 73% In those 4 days I've driven somewhere between three and four hundred miles, half of which have been on the freeway doing speeds of 60-80. I checked the oil at the end of today and it appears to have burned through about a quart of oil already. The level on the dipstick only came to the second dot. My plan is to beat on it a little more and take it back to the dealer in hopes of getting the n

  5. Really nobody was asking you to air your dirty laundry. I think I speak to all of us when I say we're just curious as to whether or not it was a mechanical issue with your Spark. I mean, we all have the same car and are here to share information on it. If it's personal or financial, I also bid you adieu because I have no interest in that.
  6. Seems like a lot of us are starting to experience this issue. There needs to be a re call or something. But while we wait for that to happen (yeah right) refer to this thread also. My engine was just making the same sound and had burnt a lot of oil and so far it seems like it's going to be a long game of waiting and repairing. http://chevysparkforum.com/topic/1739-half-stall-at-highway-speeds/page-2#entry14146
  7. UPDATE: So i brought it in a couple mornings ago and described the problem while also mentioning this thread from other Spark drivers. They basically told me that I didnt know what I was talking about because if it was an issue this serious it would throw an engine code. So we took her on a nice 30 mile test drive and of course no issues presented themselves while the tech was driving. They sent me on my merry way and told me to keep an eye on it. After taking a few deliveries (I'm a pizza dude), it started giving me problems again and was knocking worse than ever. I left work and took it stra
  8. Well guys, I'm very happy I have this thread to at least show to the techs at the dealership tomorrow morning. The OP pretty much described my issue word for word. It's happened a few times, always after driving at freeway speeds for a certain period of time. And today it got worse when the problem persisted even after exiting the freeway. After I got off and downshifted, I had hardly any acceleration. I pulled over and gave it a second, then started off in first and the same thing, no acceleration with a knocking noise coming from under the hood. Pleeeease wish me luck tomorrow morning at the
  9. So if it has happened to more people than just me on a car that is less than 2 years old, then I'm starting to think it deserves attention from GM or at least a bulletin for the service techs so that they're aware of the issue. My car has about 24,500 miles on it for the record
  10. Hey guys, I'm new here. I drive a silver Spark 1LT w/manual and I love her. As I sit here browsing and trying to learn more about the car I came across this. I had this same exact thing happen to me. Hard clunking when shifting, very rough idle, little to no acceleration, stabilitrak flashing, check engine light, CEL flashing. I only had my Spark for a month so it kinda freaked me out. Well I took it in the next day and they checked it out and said that it was getting a code for a misfiring cyllinder. The next day they called and told me the problem was a cracked intake valve. After a less tha
