Jopar_X 7
I just got my shift knob off, without having to cut, drill, or replacing the lever. I'll make a new post with detailed instructions with photos. Not as difficult as we all thought.
Jopar_X 7
Thanks! It has been posted. I'm hoping to get it stickied, so it is easily findable for new members. If the instructions are deemed useful, anyway lol Trevor Werbowsky
ChevyBeat 28
Hi @Jopar_X you have mentioned about a different post/ thread for removal of shifter knob. Can you show its link. Knob in my car is very damaged, top soft surface seems peeled off. I tried looking under boot but found just a cable tie holding boot on shifter.
Klhuffman 1
Quote the stock shift knob is pressure fitted on plus has a super strong adhesive bonding it right on there... which is almost impossible to remove.. me and a buddy took a metal cut off saw and just hacked the shift lever about 1.5 inches beneath the stock knob. with the shift lever cut shorter if gives the shifter a shorter throw into each gear making shifting faster if your a good driver. plus the knob is weighs about 7pounds by itself so it just slaps into gear which is a nice touch. hope this helps someone !
