Open the glovebox, squeeze the sides so it falls down out of the way. The access panel is right behind it. Remove it and slide the filter out. To remove the access panel I believe there are tabs that you squeeze and it comes out. Its been a while since I have changed mine out. Here you go, I found a video showing how.

Is it the same for a 2016?

Both the owner's manual and the service manual say to remove the glove box completely by removing the 2 bolts at the hinge. I can't remember the exact size tool I used, but you will need a nut driver for this. the glove box doesn't flip down like the other models.
