BlackLevisa 5
Anyone tried this? The difference in diameter is -0.3% less than the OEM size. The ride height would be a tad lower. Would it cause clearance issues?
tfraser3 10
I am running 185/60/15 much smoother ride and no rubbing at all and it looks awesome. Edited January 24, 2017 by tfraser3
BlackLevisa 5
I was thinking something just a bit wider but as close in diameter would be alright. I just want more grip along with a size that is more common because it's cheaper. Those 185/60s are looking like a winner in the price category. lil green monster
Retired old Gearhead 201
No problem BlackLevisa. 185/60/15 work well..195/55/15 and 205/50/15 all work well and have enough clearance and very little if any spedo to actual difference. Just be sure to get them balanced as close as possible since more rubber/weight bounces more when not balanced closely. 185/60/15 will not give a better grip but certainly a smoother ride. tfraser3 10
But honestly even with the 60 series tire, It still grips amazing and going around corners never squeals at all and (see pics above) fills in the wheel wells ..
mitogt 5
I use 195/50/15 no rubbing, corners like its on rails. Nitrogen in them. Just bought a 2007 Equinox LT with 48,000 original miles hope it works well.
Mr.tozzi 66
It shouldn't be a problem at all. I'm going for 195s on my next set as well. Lot more options available on that size.
Roger 0
I have a 2015 chevy spark and I went today to get tires,of course they didn't have the stock size, they suggested 185 60 15,so I drove home, and on my way it was making a heck of a racket, got home and I checked the tires and the front ones were rubbing the struts, now I have to drive 35 miles on rubbing tires and wait for them to get the oem tires in on order, hope it doesn't blow out..
