Karl Moss 1
Hello, I have a Chevrolet Spark 1.2 manual on 35k 2012 with a Intermittent Non Start problem. Basically you turn it over, it cranks but will not fire. You can then turn key back to position 0 turn key and then it "may" or may not start. Something you have to cycle the key a few times for it to start. This fault has caused the eml and traction light to sometimes illuminate and the fault sometimes cause it to misfire. I can only do a OBD scan as I do not have a Chevrolet tool. The codes on OBD I get are: P2106 - Throttle Actuator Control System 0 Forced Limited Power. P2110 - Throttle Actuator "A" Control System - Forced Limited RPM P0122 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "A" Circuit Low P0123 - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "B" Circuit High P2101 - Throttle Actuator "A" Control Motor Circuit Ranage/Performance P0685 - ECM/PCM Power Relay Control Circuit/Open Sometimes I also get P0113 - Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit High Bank 1 I have so far replaced the Throttle Body and the Ignition Switch with no luck. Any help or advise would be appreciated. Thanks Edited December 17, 2016 by Karl Moss
SpaceCowboy 15
did you test the throttle body to see if it was faulty? what about a pedal position sensor? it also says you have an open circuit. any testing to diagnose what that may be?
Mr.tozzi 66
with those codes I would be leaning towards a faulty pedal, or corrosion or bad connection at the fuse box, possibly a bad battery or a bad ground. Karl Moss 1
Thank you for the reply. I have a second had pedal coming in the post to try. I did have a Diagnostic by Chevrolet today but they didn't tell me anything conclusive. I am still awaiting them to send me what fault codes they had read from the vehicle. Would a faulty throttle pedal sensor cause a misfire tho?
Retired old Gearhead 201
Tozzi nailed it..corrosion on battery or fuse corrosion or fuse box corrosion. inspect and clean batter terminals, inspect and clean main fuse box connection plug and check and clean or replace ECM relay on small fuse box in engine compartment. If one fuse/relay/box connect is corroded they are all corroded. last step is to disconnect battery for at least one hr.
Karl Moss 1
Problem Fixed Thanks for the advise and help. The Intermittent non start was the Accelerator Pedal GM Part Number 95212073 With regards to the misfire the electro gap on cylinder 3 spark plug was to big. I suspect this had been dropped at some point on delivery. Retired old Gearhead
ESToomere 0
This might come in handy, I really didn't think consider rust issues in the engine compartment, but now that I think about I seriously doubt the service people even looked closely. BUT, since I just had to get rust out of the interior light, then this might be it.
