Murakka 0
Started experiencing a problem with the CVT. After driving for about 30 minutes or so and traveling at speeds over 70 mph, the car will repeatedly lose power and let out a loud whine for about half a second. Happens while slowly accelerating or even while the cruise control is on. I took it to my dealership and after they had the car for two days they told me that nothing is wrong because there were no trouble codes. I asked them if the sound I heard could be the CVT belt slipping and the tech responding that transmissions don't have belts and I must be talking about the torque converter. I'm not really sure what to do here, other than take it to another dealer... Is this a common issue with the CVTs or is this so strange that the tech should have no idea what I'm talking about? aaaugie 1
not normal. and if its a cvt i think the "tech" does not know what he/she is talking about.
Ray Dockrey 97
You need to take it somewhere else. Obviously the tech has no idea what they are doing. When the belt slips it makes a horrible vibration. It s a steel belt and not a typical rubber belt. And it is definitely not normal.
