suman 0
Hello All, I am having an issue with my chevy spark (Year - 2008, around 60K kilometer crossed). I generally drive on slightly hilly roads with full of traffic. Recently I am noticing that if I press the clutch and then release it, the clutch is not coming back to normal position. If I press it again for 1 or more times, it is coming back to the normal position. I went to a service center, the technician told me that the clutch is getting hard and it is time to replace the whole clutch unit. I was not fully convinced with this advice since they decided to replace every part of the clutch including flywheel without opening the clutch. Could you please advise on this issue? Thank you. Retired old Gearhead 201
Sounds more like some lube or adjustment is needed in the area between the peddle and the throwout bearing..or a sticking throwout bearing that moves the actual clutch. I think they want to take the easy and profitable route and replace the works..go to another trusted independent mechanic instead of the dealer...shouldn't cost much and could be something as simple as a dried out linkage...That's my take on the info supplied.
